I think he'll be in as good a shape he can get in. I don't think he'll win, but I expect a good effort. Having said that, it shouldn't be news when he trains like a damn professional is supposed to train.

It looks like they are trying to get Chavez down to the weight as soon as possible, and then training there. Acording to reports he didn't gain any weight after his last fight so thats a very good starting point. Can't really tell from a photo but he looks like he may already be on weight. Anyway when the fight was signed I felt and still feel if Chavez makes weight with out being drained and actually trains, he wins in an upset.Comment

I will go against the grain I think he looks a little rung out and still got maybe 8-10 pounds to get to 164.
I don't get why he is working in sweat bags, its only water weight and will be back in again by tomorrow, I don't see why they need to be dragging the fluids out of him that's not doing him any good because it can upset his mineral balance, hmmm strange, maybe its for the cameras.Comment

I think it has to do with the way they are making him drop the weight. Maybe they want to maintain him in the "beast mode", that way he drops weight in all these months and not the last weeks.
I still see him really big, so lets see what happens. Hopefully he comes ripped because he will need to get a firm body for Canelo.Comment

I'm so with you here. I am really tempted to take a flyer on this.It looks like they are trying to get Chavez down to the weight as soon as possible, and then training there. You're right, he might. I expected him to be much softer at this point.
Chavez has been a let down for so long, my optimism is guarded. But it's there, nonetheless.Comment
