Pacquiao is currently the best WW in boxing.

Whether you believe he's passed his prime or not he still has bags of ability and has very solid wins over strong fighters such as Bradley and a very game Vargas who impressed me. He's adapted his game now as he doesn't have the legendary stamina he once did but now he's a phenomenal boxer and Mayweather explained the traps he saw (and scuffed out I must say) which make Manny great. Ultimately, based on history and recent performances; Manny is now the best welterweight in the world unless someone proves otherwise by beating elite competition and proving it.

LacedUp will chime in and say he's the worst in the division just in case Khan ends up beating him she he could still think the Porter win was greater.

      He hasn't proven it.

Resumes don't win fights.....fighters win fights.

Who was the last WW he fought?
All I see are ex lightweights and super lightweights.

He's not mixing it up with the big boys in the division....he's not the best by not facing them.

Lets be honest. If Thurman or Spence or someone had beaten Bradley and Vargas back to back, imagine the hype?!? - The difference is that Manny is an ATG and set a high standard early on that it's hard to live up to it. It was the same with Floyd, he could beat very good fighters and get no credit for it where as other fighters would be the best thing since sliced bread with those wins.

Manny isn't what he was, but i doubt you're beating Bradley or Vargas back to back unless you're a top notch fighter. I think Khan is going to be in deep in this fight.

That goes for a lot of guys though. That's like saying Thurman will deserve little credit if he beats Garcia because Garcia was a 140 fighter. The fact is that a lot of guys around those weights have come from lower weights or jumped around in weight.

Not to mention Bradley started his career as a WW. Most of his first 10-15 fights were at WW before he moved down. So if you take those fights and his current WW run, he's actually had more 147 fights than 140 fights in his career.

... That whole post was ******ed and full of. contradictions. He beat bradley and Vargas at ww and I think at the time bradley was rank 9th p4p at the ww limit. All he does is **** on people resume and now resume doesn't matter?

I don't think he's the best anymore and i have a hard time favoring him over brook or Spence right now because of the size difference and I think the rest of the division is ass but he should still be considered the best unless he loses to someone.

i won't disagree, but if he beats khan, he definitely needs to unify with one of the other belt holders at '47.

if he continues to fight stablemates he's already beaten, or seek out ww's like horn or khan, he needs to be dropped a couple pegs.

He still looks great in spots, I don't think his body could handle a tough fight like some of the ones he's had in the past, he's able to get away with less activity now because his explosiveness and ring smarts means a guy like Vargas can't push too hard to grind him down because he'd get caught and knocked out. But a better fighter with the right style could make him look his age.

As with Canelo-Khan it feels like Pac-Khan only ends one way, but Khan's 'flurry and run, flurry and run' approach could make Pac's legs look old chasing him around the ring until the finish.
