Only way I can see Kovalev winning is throwing off Ward's timing and landing something powerful on the chin. The knockdown punch in the first fight really wasn't flush and on the chin.

i havent got much to discuss. Fights gonna look exactly like the first one. Wards too crafty to get knocked out but isnt good enough offensively to win enough rounds. If he cant bully a fighter in the clinch then hes quite limited offensively. Said that before the fight and it proved to be the case, unfortunately it might hurt you to read this but his combo punching and punch variety is horse****.

Kovalev doesn't have a very good inside game I'm not denying that but I think they will work on that + keeping the distance.

Hopefully, I'd like to see Ward posed with new puzzles to solve. If Kovalev just comes in and attempts to blame his defeat on stamina alone and only increasing his endurance I don't see how he can possibly prevail.

Kovalev by KO in the middle rounds. In the first fight, he came out like he wanted to prove a point, that he can do everything better than Ward. He willingly engaged in fighting inside with Ward, he wanted to wrestle and box to show the world that he's better boxer than everyone gave him credit for.

But he didn't have the stamina for it. I know he mentioned that he got sick in training and spent too much time in the mountains, but to me that was an excuse. He gassed against Chilemba too.

I think in a rematch he'll be angry enough to take more risks and be much more aggressive. He wont be ****y, he'll come to knock Dre out plain and simple. And I think he can do it. Even though Ward got up from the KD, he was hurt that time and another time during the fight. In the fight with Barrera, he looked pretty bad even though Sullivan only landed jabs. I don't think Ward can stand up to consistent punishment.

Of course I could be wrong, but that's my feeling.
