Lol wtf? Stiverne hasn't fought in 2 years. Didn't whyte and chisora fight an eliminator? How does this guy get another shot after being semi retired lol

Well, wilder has now officially become the divisions forgotten man.

AJ, Wlad, fury, the other fury and Parker are all going to move on without him.

Wilder will make a unification fight before he faces Stiverne! Really disappointed that Ortiz won't be fighting Stiverne in the meantime!

How is Stiverne so highly rated anyway?

I know he held the belt but who has he beaten apart from a shot past prime Arreola who wasn't even that good at his best??

His last fight was 2015 when he went life and death with journeyman Rossy.

Surprise surprise... another dud fight. So Bermaine Stiverne and Dominic Breazeale to finish the year... I'd be disappointed if I was a fan.

The WBC should have forced Stiverne vs. Ortiz!

              February 10, 2017:

Stiverne was scheduled to face Povetkin last December in a final WBC eliminator to get a shot at world champion Deontay Wilder. The morning of the fight, it was revealed that Povetkin had tested positive for a banned substance and the entire fight fell apart when the WBC withdrew their sanction.

Stiverne already tried to file a petition to go around the possibility of having to take part in a final eliminator. He feels, that Povetkin's testing failure should automatically allow him to bypass the elimination process.

The WBC did not agree with Stiverne and rejected his request. The sanctioning body will grant Stiverne a mandatory shot - but only if he wins a final eliminator.

Ortiz is already the WBA's mandatory challenger to the upcoming fight between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko, which takes place on April 29 at Wembley. There is no guarantee that Ortiz will get the winner, as the IBF has also mandated the winner of that contest to face Kubrat Pulev.

Wilder is making a voluntary defense on February 25th, against undefeated Gerald Washington.

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom is working with Ortiz on a fight by fight basis and he believes the Cuban ****er would accept the opportunity to fight Stiverne, but it's a decision that he would have to think over as taking a final WBC eliminator would void out his mandatory status under the WBA.

"It hasn't been called yet by the WBC, but there are people talking about one and two having a final eliminator for Wilder, which would make sense," Hearn told Sky Sports. "Ortiz is high in the IBF, he's mandatory in the WBA, he's now No 2 in the WBC. There are so many ways he can go. I think if the Stiverne fight came up, he would take that fight in a final eliminator, but then that would close the door on other governing bodies, so it's something he has got to think about carefully."

Stiverne appears to want no part of the fight, revealing on social media that Ortiz is not a big enough fight for him.

"Just to clear up the rumors and lies, A fight between Ortiz and I isn't happening. We got bigger fish to fry," Stiverne stated.

AJ didn't have a long amateur career and started late. Parker didn't even qualify for the Olympics and is from the arse end of the World with small financial backing. That's just the other young belt holders plenty of contenders that have better names! Wilder has no excuse all of these recent fights there's been at least 10 better guys to pick from, 38 frickin fights!. Indefensible
AJ is fighting a 40 year old Wlad coming off of a loss who's been inactive for over a year. It's good matchmaking. I don't know how good this Takam guy is because I've never seen him before. And that's how I rate guys. I need to see them fight. The ranking system is a joke when a bum like Martin can become someone's mandatory. And then win a belt without landing a punch.

I bet he can't squat more than 185. There's no way he can!! Those LEGS would NOT support it! Simple as...

He can prolly calf-raise 15-20x MAYBE with two 45 plates on (this is what strong women with beefy calves use; most men use 3-4 for 20-30 reps).

Can you imagine if he was in the UFC? Them legs would snap first kick that got checked!
he'd probably get down to 205 and fight at LHW.

would be a monster in MMA, although the UFC would force him to fight decent fighters
