Good stoppage. Clearly Harrison was hurt or he wouldn't have spit the mouth piece out. He was in another world doing something like that. Hurd won't hold that strap for long though.

How is he lesser if he won fair and square? This wasn't a one punch KO like Bailey vs Mike Jones, this happened in multiple rds. Skills are the most important in my eyes, but there are other aspects to a fighter. Look at Khan, he will never be better than Danny do to the fact that Danny has more of those other attributes than just slickness and speed.

Harrison has good skills but he hasn't the chin for this level.

          I think Hurd baited him

Hurd got the win, but I was not impressed. I've seen him 3-4 times, and this was easily the worse he's looked. Sure, the competition was better, but he looked lethargic.

That was a really fun fight to watch. Surprised Harrison packed it in so easily at the end though, he had his legs and could clearly continue - he just didn't want to take anymore. There seemed to be a heck of a lot of regret going through him as he was slouched in the corner, reflecting on the fight.

Still - entertaining, back and forth fight.

That was just a great fight between two great young talents. Harrison looked fantastic the first 6 rounds with an awesome use of distance, movement, and a varied jab. You could tell that every single punch that landed hurt though and after 9 rounds Hurd finally timed his jab.

Anyone happen to know what the official scorecards were looking like going into the KO round?

Hurd didn't look impressive early but he wasn't letting the right hand go. I think he was expending a lot of nervous energy the first couple rounds. Even when he was losing once he let a right hand go in the 3rd or 4th and Harrison's legs wobbled I knew it was only a matter of time. Harrison was up on the cards. You could have gave him the first 6 rounds but you knew he just wasn't going to make it to the final bell. From round 7 on he was headed toward a KO loss. Spitting out the mouth piece was a way out. Can't blame the ref for waiving it off there. Even if it had continued there was no way in hell Tony was making it to the final bell. Brian Kenny was up in arms about the ref stopping it but Abner checked him and said he saw Tony really didn't want to continue. Great comeback wins for Hurd and Wilder. They were both losing early but you knew they possessed erasers and had a high probability of earning stoppage wins despite the early resistance.
