Im a huge fan of Canelo, but Im rooting for Chavez Jr. He's kind of anti-hero, a goofy looking, spoiled, pot smoking brat with a good chin, Canelo although very skillful, sorta feels like he's being forced upon us as the "Next Big thing in boxing".

        Proud Mexicano here.

Ive been joking that I back Jr. bc he represents us -- he's a toker, a slacker, and he's often overweight -- basically me, LOL

Honestly, I cant be a fan of a dude that doesn't put in the work.

But I am a confirmed Canelo hater. Ive hated him since he got in a fistfight with Archi Solis -- really, fighting a Jr. Fly?

I also thought he was a hype job through his early career. Look at who the WBC arranged to be his opponents for his first belts. Matthew Hatton? Some other Brit whose name I forget but who disappeared.

Since then, he has shown to be a good fringe p4p type (maybe just outside my top 10).

His ducking of GGG I would accept -- if he hadn't called him out and also implicated Mexicanos by saying "We Mexicanos don't **** around" -- now his cowardice looks bad on us.

I do push back against what someone else mentioned -- that Canelo is being pushed on us as a superstar. He's a good young fighter. But there are many more talented fighters. Hell, Estrada is better IMO, if we're just talking Mexicans, as well as LSC & Mikey.

So WAR JR!!! Spark Canelo in the ring and then spark up a fatty in the ring afterwards!

Also, my family is from Guanajuato, but Im surrounded by annoying Tapatios. Arrogant mfs. Chivas this, Chivas that. I don't even really like futbol, but I decided I was a America fan, just to run contrary to all these Tapatios & their Chivas.

So f0k Chivas & f0k Canelo!! War Jr. War Sinaloa!! (lol, im not even from Sinaloa, don't know anything about it, except they have good bandas)

Despite his clear ducking of Golovkin, I'm still a fan of Canelo, he's a top notch fighter. Him winning will be better for the boxing, he's more dedicated, more skilled and will offer the sport better fights than the big oaf.

I expect him to beat the snot outta Chavez.

I don't like Canelo, but I'm rooting for him in hopes that he fights Golovkin this year. Also, I'm not a Chavez fan, so seeing him derail Canelo vs. GGG is not something I want. I've tried to like him and gave many chances because I'm a huge fan of his father, but Jr. has let down the fans way too many times.

I don't like lazy, entitled people.

Not a fan of either, but should be a great event regardless.

I'm with my boy Julio on this one. No way Canelo sees the finish line. Listen to this, I can't even make this up cause Julio is a genius. They bet their purses and theres a 1 million per lb over 164.5. so if Julio is getting 5-6 mill, that means Julio can come in 5-6 lbs extra, Canelo will get the money and since Julio will not drain himself and be in shape, come in at 180 plus, the day of the fight looking like the hulk, beat the **** out of Canelo and go home with the ENTIRE PURSE. F***ng GENIUS.

I was a big fan of both as they rose through the ranks...

But Jr didn't want it bad enough to put in the hard work and says some delusional stuff that can't be taken seriously... He had more potential that wasn't reached... (Still love Sr.)

Canelo was easy to like, then changed into a egomaniac... I'm not sure if Oscar created this, but the word "humble" is found nowhere in the equation...

As far as this fight goes:

Jr is strong, with a good enough beard to finish on his feet, but being weight drained takes the snap away... Say what you want, but Jr has a vicious body attack, this will be a factor...

Canelo will be very strong at this weight.. His boxing is greatly improved... (This version of Canelo is the one that should have fought Mayweather.)
He should settle in to a UD after a difficult first half of the fight against a spirited Julio Cesar Chavez Jr...

The X factor is always the judges... Canelo usually has this check mark on his side, but this fight might be different...
