He can't force people to fight him. Parker could have fought Wilder, but viewed a vacant title as an easier route. Joshua could have fought Wilder, but viewed Martin's IBF title as an easier route, and then defended against Molina, who Wilder had already beat.
Klitschko was trapped in mandatory hell, but he and Wilder would have fought eventually if they kept winning.
Ortiz could have moved up the WBC rankings, but chose a bogus WBA interim title instead.
Wilder is the longest reigning heavyweight champion. The WBC title has the longest unbroken lineage.Comment

True enough, but a two-year reign isn't exactly earth shattering either. I'm pressing for better opponents for him and better fights, man as we all should do.He can't force people to fight him. Why are people naming Wilder but not Brook? Is it solely because he was forced to now fight Spence? Both Brook and Wilder only have 1 notable win with Porter being a little better than Stiverne. Brook get's so many passes it's unbelievable! Thing is though Wilder has been a pro for 9 years vs Brook of 13 years so Brook should be ahead of Wilder in regard of being a paper champ or at least a belt hostage.Comment

It's not earth shattering. He's still young. His biggest fights are yet to come. But in the last 2 years, he shut out the TBRB #3 in the world and knocked out a guy that TBRB had in their top ten for six consecutive months last year.
Have Joshua or Parker beaten a guy that was ranked in the top 3 by TBRB when they faced them?
Wilder is held to a double standard because people hate Al Haymon. Plain and simple.
Wilder easily could have vacated and picked up the IBF belt. Instead, he flew to Moscow to face the current TBRB #1 in enemy territory.
Anybody criticizing Wilder is being ridiculous. He's literally facing all comers and knocking them out. Staying very active and clearing out the WBC rankings.
He's expressed a strong desire to unify. Instead of ****ting all over the guy, he should be given a chance to back up that claim. I believe he will attempt to unify. The fact that he flew to Moscow should show he's willing to face anybody.Last edited by original zero; 02-22-2017, 12:21 AM.Comment

Time will tell but all that tbrb talk doesn't get my blood pumping. All the rankings systems are all over the place. No one can keep up with all that. It's not earth shattering. He's still young.
