dont you think that you should be able to speak the nation's language you are trying to be a citizen of?

is that such an unreasonable request?

You don't need to speak english to become a permanent resident in the United States. But to become an actual citizen you need to pass a test, which is given in English. So either Lara passed this test or he received a waiver, in which he didn't have to take the test in English. Usually waivers are given to much older people, though.

There should be a law that in order to be approved for citizenship, you should be able to FLUENTLY speak that nation's language. That should be a bare minimum prerequisite before a citizenship is approved.....

Seriously, dont you feel like you AT LEAST OWE that to the country you are trying to be a citizen of? How can you be a citizen of a nation and not know how to speak its language?

How can you call yourself an american citizen but not know how to speak english????

            That is disrespectful.

If Lara is still using a translator in his next fight to communicate with THE CITIZENS AND AUDIENCE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,

            his citizenship should be revoked.
shut up you pathetic weasel. you think lara or anyone else cares about your *****ing and moaning??? are you pissed because you walked in on your boyfriend jerking off to lara???

U.S. Constitution has no official language yet, so you stop, Sterling. Attempts have been made but always denied.

Correct, you have to be like 50 yrs or older and have been a legal resident for like 10 yrs or something to get the English waiver.

My parents & many of my uncles received the waiver and are US citizens, and speak Spanish fairly exclusively.

If anyone doesn't like that, heres your only recourse --->

Yet 80% of the poulation speaks it. Don't need to have a government decree to know what language is spoken in the US. The goal of any immigrant should be to assimilate into whatever culture they are joining. Language being a key aspect if not the most important aspect to that end.

That said I don't agree with the OP on being fluent. If that were the case like half of us would still be Europeans lol. It generally takes 2-3 generations for immigrants to become fluent in english and I got no problems with that as long as an effort is being made.
