Losing at the age of 35 to a hard hitting challenger in his prime would not discredit GGG's record or achievements at all. He would still have won 3 world titles and have 17 successful defences, all by KO.

He would also still have his fantastic amateur record - 345 wins from 450 fights, 2 Pan-Asian titles, Olympic silver and World Championship gold medals.

The only regret would be that his achievements as a pro could have been even greater if he hadn't been ducked by Sturm, Martinez, Quillin, Cotto, Canelo and BJS.

Anthony Joshua is the Olympic Gold Medalist, and people are questioning whether he can really box (That is why his next fight up against Wladimir Kiltschko is his biggest test!) in the professional ranks Golovkin has not come up against a fighter, who can negate his power and first mode of attack! somebody like Andre Ward would probably achieve this! (And its in these situations where great boxers have the slickness and skills to adapt)...

Its these type of fights that expose you as a fighter, and really prove your boxing skills! thus-far Golovkin has not been forced to adapt his game in any of his fights, so we don't really know whether he can box! certain aspects of his game like head movement and defense seem to be non existent because? he has not been forced to invest in them heavily. (And yes! this is down to the fact that his offense is very potent! People would not be making these sort of threads, if Golovkin has proven himself against a multitude of fighting styles! these type of thread where not made about Oscar De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather or Roy Jones Junior for example)...

The middleweight division is weak let's not kid ourselves. GGG has dominated a weak era with no legit challengers. His best fights have been against physically smaller men coming up from lower weights. I already made a great thread about how small a percentage of his opponents have been natural Middleweights. It would look bad for him the first time he fights a natural Middleweight champion he loses. I don't see it happening though, Danny Jacobs can't take a punch.

Correct, it would look very bad after all the hype but I don't see Golovkin losing either!
A loss wouldn't change what he has achieved previously, it would just put it in perspective for those that can't see that, as yet, he hasn't actually achieved much more than being the best of a very mediocre bunch.

Ward: knowing Ward would be shyte house lucky to even make 168, they insisted upon 164 for a Ward/g string fight. This after accepting 168 for both Chavez Jr. and Froch. Clear DUCK!

Lara: anyone from 154-168 but not Lara despite him being rated #1 at 154 for more than a year. Even I don't think Lara could beat g string but it amuses me the way they will fight a welterweight but won't even consider Lara.

All his 20+ defences wouldnt mean a damn thing, its not how many you beat its about when you step up do you actually deliver.

I feel unlike a lot of fighters who lose if GGG loses now, it will really really stain his career and wouldnt even be considered for the HOF.

He could be known as the guy who fooled the public for as long as he possibly could

Up to this point there are some that say that he is fooling the public.

He needs this fight as much as Jacobs does. Both want to prove that either they are the best middleweight or that their legacy is more than what their career has been up to now.

That's why I can't wait for this fight to happen.
