Blacks dont hate Chavez Sr, he was on the heels of the careers of Sugar Ray, Hagler, Hearns, Holmes, beating everyone and not getting credit, then there was a guy named tyson, getting his career started. Didnt appear he was fighting anybody, just as the poster said earlier "It appeared that he was fighting cab drivers, he gets the same Respect as Joe Calzage.

Don't hate Chavez just think his resume is overrated. People still whine about Castillo 1 when it comes to Floyd but Chavez has done genuine Ls on his record he found gave received.

The fact that he fought a lot of cab drivers doesn't hide the fact that his record is also full of Laporte, Lockridge, Mayweather and Ramirez in his prime, Taylor, Whitaker just past it and then Oscar, Tszyu and other young bucks when on the downhill. If you still knock him on resume your full of excrement. You couldn't have found 100top class guys in any era. Still a great fighter who made good fights, didn't duck younger guys.
