Both can hurt each other. It's just that GGG has shown to be able to take a punch better.

However Jacobs can hurt any man in that division. I expect this fight to be very technical because both will have a lot of respect for each others power.

I just have to give GGG the edge because he is more durable.

I don't think the idea of hurting Gennady is the winning strategy. He can be beat by points by someone who can survive the power, but to try to hurt this guy, that's not the way.

If he truly believes Golovkin is overlooking him, then he is in for a world of trouble. I don't know how much truth there is, or isn't, to the potential Saunders fight. But when you want to fight 3-4 times a year, your management has to always be planning ahead like this. That has nothing to do with the focus, and training Golovkin has done/will do for this fight. This should be a good fight, and I look forward to it, but all the talk coming from Jacobs side this week seems like he is grasping. Just admit the guy is a great fighter and you will do your best to beat him.

I am as well. I am also confident he can have you out on your feet. Focus and stop doing interviews damnit lol You don't see ggg being quoted on here. That man stays focused on the task at hand.

This is just the standard thing leading up to the fight. Scribes won't stop hounding the fighters for a story til the fight is past.

As for this one, Jacobs has the best chance of anyone GGG has fought so far. Both will be tested. And if Jacobs gets the W, even with as much as I've berated him and his satellite dish ears... he'd have my full respect after the W. Not that my opinion means jack though. LOL

jacobs will need to land multiple shots flush on ggg's chin to do anything like its been said here a thousand times we've seen him take shots from hard punchers like stevens and lemieux and it didn't even phase him 1 or 2 punches wont do it. I wonder how will danny react if ggg walks through his best punches.

Then I guess the way GGG was stymied for a couple rounds versus Brook says a lot for him.

Well if we being completely honest here Jacobs. You POSSIBLY being able to hurt GGG is the only reason this fight is intriguing, and that is the only wildcard/chance most credible boxing people give you. You quick enough to land and its clear you have power now can you put that together to get GGG and if you do hurt him can you get the kill cause you arent the most defensive minded person out there while that makes for great fights also leaves you vulnerable and against a real puncher like ggg that vulnerability can be your down fall.

Danny Jacobs is a very good fighter, and Gennady Golovkin is an outstanding fighter..... he could even be special

Semantics, man. I don't think Jacobs means here that Golovkin is a 'Boxing Great' - like an ATG or something, merely that he is great in the more mundane way of just being very good... y'know, like Frosties as opposed to like Alexander.

aboutfkntime is right. For a fighter's legacy to be labelled great they have to do great things. I love watching GGG but he hasn't done that yet. The confusion arises, I think, because anyone who knows the game can SEE his technique and respect how technically proficient he is. It isn't an accident that most highly respected fighters and coaches believe GGG is special and that he certainly has the potential to do great things. But to actually do great things needs opportunity, which he has found hard to put in place, and it requires that you overcome serious adversity at least once. We haven't seen GGG in trouble showing us his resilience and heart and you have to see it to believe it. So it is perfectly possible to believe, as I do, that he is a fantastic fighter capable of great things, much better than some others seem to recognize as they don't have the eyes to see, and yet to agree with aboutfkntime that he can't yet be called 'great' in the true sense of the word.

I'm not sure that a boxer has to go through some sort of adversity to be considered great...that may mean that the boxer may have to be losing or lost. The likes of Floyd or Marciano are considered great due to their record and what they have been able to do in the ring.
