just like ggg was affected by sergio fighting murray instead of him, sergio fighting cotto instead of him, cotto fighting canelo instead of him, canelo fighting khan and smith instead of him, froch retiring instead of fighting him, chavez going to haymon instead of fighting him, quillin fighting everybody but him instead of him, sturm ducking him forever, and so on.
spence only wanted to finally step up early this year. that's the earliest his team wanted it to happen. and because brook has balls, spence only has to wait like 3 months longer than he intended to get his big fight. ggg had to wait like a decade instead of NOT moving up and being a fafafachina and making the excuse to "unify". (Unify is code for ducking) . hell even the ggg-brook fight you complain about was also a result of another middleweight avoiding him, this time eubank jr, even though LATER it was claimed he would've fought DeGale (yeah right lol).Comment

Well the issue is no current WW has a clear place at #1. At MW it is clearly GGG. At JMW it is clearly Canelo. At JWW it is clearly Crawford. At LHW it is clearly Ward/Kovalev. These guys have all taken on the best competition and won those fights.
Thurman has a meh resume although it's getting better especially of late, Ghost, Porter, and now Garcia. Bradley is still at the weight and he will always be among the top while he's active. The same can be said for Poochman even if he pretends to be a politician and fight plumbers from Australia.
Although Brook doesn't have the strongest resume he's beaten the C level guys the way he should and he won a close, but decisive fight against Porter...and it was a fresher version of Porter than Thurman fight - Brook also won more clearly than Thurman.
If Brook wins decisively against Spence I would give him #1 and put Thurman/Garcia at #2, especially if it's Thurman. If Garcia wins it's a weaker #2 tbh
I never bought the "high risk, low reward," nonsense people on NSB spew. The fact is, at present, Kell Brooks is not a big enough "star" to get the high profile fights he wants, which is why he has no choice but to face spence.
Now whoever wins this fight should be able to get another belt holder at 147, or khan, later on in the year. It will also be Spence's biggest payday to date, and it'll be Kelly's 2nd highest.
It's high risk, high reward for both guys.Comment
