I'm shocked. thought for sure Brooke was going to find a way out of this fight. This is really high risk but he get's the fight on home turf. Spence needs to do like GGG and keep this fight from going to the scorecards or he will be robbed by judges.

I'm looking at boxrec, it appears all other mandatory defenses on Kell Brooks resume had around at most four month layoff in contrast Errol Spence Jr. will be inactive for about nine months.

Lindsey Tucker, the IBF's championships chairman, confirmed to BoxingScene.com on Monday that a purse bid for the Brook-Errol Spence Jr. welterweight title fight has been canceled because the two sides have reached an agreement for a May 20 fight in Brook's hometown of Sheffield, England. The purse bid, originally scheduled for February 7 at the IBF's headquarters in Springfield, New Jersey, had been postponed a week ago until Tuesday because promoters for Brook and Spence had made significant progress toward reaching a deal.

They will have both been inactive for 8-9 months. But Kell is coming of a loss and a broken face.
