Pretty much every major sporting observer in 1970 felt Ali's legs were alreday gone and this is before the Frazier fight. I can't remember who, maybe McIlvenney wrote that ALi should be taking one more fight before getting in the ring with Frazier.

There are no reasons for alternative facts and counter history here, its an established fact that by 71, let alone 74-78, Ali was alreday past his best. Still great but not what he could have been if not for the ban.
He certainly was a better boxerin the 70's and was the best of 60's and 70's combine...you guys act like he was an old man in the 70's which is nonsense. He was easier to hit because he faced better fighters in the 70's. Monte Coxx is the biggest historian in boxing history and even said Ali in 1974 was the best version. im not concerned about the in crowd i look at whats what...ali of 60's would not defeat Ali of early 70's. The only established fact is the one you created in your mind.

I'm not saying ALi wasnt great in the 70s, he just wasnt prime. If you think he was you just dont know what Ali was like in the 60s. Plain as day.

I wont go over it again.

Leonard was prime when Duran beat him. Arguably with the wrong gameplan lol

Ali was not better in the 70's.The legs to move for 15 rounds were not there. Now show me where Ali said he was better in the 70's. I'll wait.

Im not sure if the thread is asking fantasy match ups or talking about a fighter in their own era never going to lose ?

Mike Tyson never lost in his prime and under Rooney had a good shot at defeating anyone .

Roy Jones also has a strong case !

Vitali Klitchko made adjustments after the Lewis fight and was extremely difficult to deal with as well
                      .

You cant ever say NEVER bc odds are someone always loses even on a off night . At their BEST night would be more sensible thread
His adjustments were to never fight another ATG
