This guy fought Lewis and sparred Wlad. I respect your opinion but he would trump yours because he had a real fight with Lewis and sparred Wlad.

You also have to remember Steward knew both more than anyone and also saw both hitting heavy bags/mitts ..sparring etc...

From my own view i see Wlad as the harder crisper puncher when he lands.Lewis is more heavy handed but Wlads speed and accuracy make it a harder punch.

Mercer was older but wlad beat him badly ,Mercer still had that chin ,Lewis couldnt crack it.

My personal experiance with lewis was just a brief slap boxing match in before his fight with Ruddock when i was young ,he trained up in the poconos...lol..he was also a nice guy friendly and he had just started lifting weights then ,utilizing strength and conditioning to his boxing.
    W. Ledochowski absolutely nailed it on the head, when I was in camp with both it was at a much different time in their careers.

I am 6 foot 3 1/2 and at that time I was around 225, Wlad was still developing and Lennox was the established best heavy on the planet, so yes it is very possible that Wlad grew into his man strength and developed into the harder puncher.

He was the better athlete and much better technically so I would not doubt that he is developed into the harder puncher, but at the time I sparred them both Lennox was indeed the more hurtful puncher, that is why i said in my experience.

The Mercer fight can I think also be discounted because he was at a much different time in his career also, but yes i would have no problem proclaiming Wlad as the harder puncher based on the other information given and watching him fight but I just did not have that experience when I was fortune enough to be in camp with those hall of fame fighters.

Yes i also would not doubt that Lennox coming up was a very nice guy but in camp he was very aloof which is understandable because he was the champ and there is a lot of macho activity in camp.

Wladimir and Lewis hit about equally hard, both harder than Vitali.

Who do you think would win if they fought in their primes?

I would think that the difference in the punching power between all three of them is not that great.
Vitali appears to be a different fighter than Wlad and Lennox. Vitali appeared to favour volume over single big punches...That doesn't mean he couldn't crack as hard as Wlad or Lennox.

I know one thing....Vitali was tougher than Wlad and Lennox.

Just think back to how many punches Vitaili Kiltschko detonated upon Shannon Briggs for 12 rounds! and then look at this display of destructive punching power from Lennox Lewis....(Like i have mentioned before Wladimir Kiltschko in terms of 1 punch power may hit harder than Lewis, but overall as a offensive fighter Lennox Lewis was more destructive when angry!)....

                imo

Though Lewis was the better fighter and would probably do a better job landing his power on elite opposition. Wlad is probably the hardest puncher ever in terms of a single shot. The speed, technique and size is hard to compete with.

There is a great article/thread floating about by a guy who sparred many of the top punchers in the 90's/00's (Tua, old Foreman, Wlad, Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe etc), and he seemed to put Wlad above them all in terms of one punch ko power, though he said Lewis smashed him up aswell, and Foreman had the heaviest hands.

Nice. I like these stories with no bias involved.

Well that question I can't answer because it is pure speculation, but based on my time in the ring with both if I was offered a title shot with one I would pick Wlad.

Not saying I think I could possibly win but I think it would be a better fight as long as it lasted.
