Punch for punch Wlad may hit harder but Lewis is definitely the better puncher..
Wlad vs Vitali vs Lewis Punching Power

" Emanuel Steward said recently, in sparring and during in training camp, wlad's opponent had their gloves up .....with 20 oz gloves AND headgear..he said Wlad knocked out 2 sparring partners cold( yes the guys were covering up AND he hit the 20 oz gloves AND headgear and still knocked them out!!)
"that I think youre going to see a much more aggressive fighter in Wladimir. If this man actually would just operate with close to 80% only operating with about 60% he would be the most devastating heavyweight in the history of boxing because Ive worked with him. Never, ever, ever have I been involved with a fighter who has so much one punch punching power." E.Steward
Wlad Klitchko hits the hardest .
Lewis had a great over hand right and always generated excellent momentum bc he had height and threw it downward which gave it even more velocity on it .
Vitali Klitchko was heavy handed but he was a shovel puncher that mostly pushed his punches and broke you down slowly throwing at high volumes more than Lewis or Wlad .Comment

Wlad hits harder than Vitali, but Vitali had the chin to hang in there, get his shots off and do more damage overall. If Wlad can't get his shots off then he won't pull the trigger a la the Fury fight.Comment

iirc he said also that when using pads the trainer often brings the pad towards the punch, and stops the fighter putting full extension into their shots. Which is fine in small doses, but if that becomes a habit then you end up with Amir Khan esque punches which dont travel through the target.Wlad is generally regarded as the biggest puncher of that bunch.
Amazing how many hard punchers Emanuel Steward developed though. He reckoned pads were a big impediment to fighters learning how to hit hard. He preferred to have his guys throw one shot with everything behind it, rather than 3 or 4 that had only half their power on them.
Steward was also a master at teaching his fighters how to set up power shots.
Brilliant trainer. Best of the modern era imo.Comment

Lennox Lewis had a great array of shot selection! uppercuts, body-shots, straight right hands, over-hand rights! and hooks! which where all thrown with devastating power. Waldimir Kiltschko seems to favor just the straight right hand, and left hooks! in terms of share punching force? Waldimir Kiltschko may well punch harder! but overall Lennox Lewis when he was angry! was a much more devastating fighter!
Here is a fight which displays the shot selection that Lennox Lewis possessed! Manny Stewart tightened up Lennox Lewis's style, but when Lewis needed to be creative and instinctual! he always had that ability inside of the boxing ring....
oh man, remember when heavyweights were just like larger, slower versions of middleweights? when you could look at a heavyweight and tell, damn maybe that is a professional athlete and not some obese guy they pulled from the audience as a last minute replacementComment

ive just the article, pretty insightful. I dont know anything about the boxer, but from his account it seems that he is a david tua kind of guy. Go forward brawler. Probably a short, stocky kind of guy.1.Wlad
2.Lewis
3.Vitali
imo
Though Lewis was the better fighter and would probably do a better job landing his power on elite opposition. Wlad is probably the hardest puncher ever in terms of a single shot. The speed, technique and size is hard to compete with.
There is a great article/thread floating about by a guy who sparred many of the top punchers in the 90's/00's (Tua, old Foreman, Wlad, Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe etc), and he seemed to put Wlad above them all in terms of one punch ko power, though he said Lewis smashed him up aswell, and Foreman had the heaviest hands.

So I can understand why he had so much trouble against Klitschko, because if you are not fast enough to get past wladimirs jab, you wont do **** to Klitschko and he will catch you on the way coming in.
Lewis can also apply this strategy, but he also likes to be aggressive and rock you with uppercuts, which gives you more opportunities against him.
Back to the topic, I think Wladimir has probably the hardest single shots, Lewis did more damage, because he could switch to a more aggressive style and had more offensive variety, Vitali has heavy shots, but most of the time his knockouts are a result of accumulation of damage.Comment

Wlad in sparring went hard, I would estimate at around 90 to 100 percent, he did not like getting hit (who does?) so he would keep you honest and on the outside as much as possible." Lennox would not spar hard unless the other guy was talking too much, then the would put it on them and the other fighter would get sent home because Lennox did not like to fight in camp, he liked to work on technical aspects and timing.
fortunately i was never caught clean with a straight right from Wlad and his punches were sharp and hard but punch for punch Lennox was a much harder puncher.
Lennox was a very physically strong fighter were Wlad was more athletic and faster, also Lennox was very I don't want to say arrogant but didn't like to socialize and his mom was always there which was very different.
Wlad was very funny and liked to joke around after the work was done, hes a great guy.Comment

It's Wladimir Klitschko, going by records, stats, weight of himself/opponents, Steward, common opponents and sparring partners... Evolution from the Boom-Boom-Room of AJ is 6'4, about Lewis size, not a Tua's type at all...
Dchampishere said Lewis, perfectly plausible that he felt Lewis power more, different years, your conditioning and durability is not always the same, also Lewis at his biggest and heaviest, Wladimir still young and lighter, and such...
Going with video evidence and stats, as i said, Wlad has the hardest single shots in HW's history, straight-right and left-hook are shutting-out and sending all over the ring 250lbs modern athletic heavies/super-heavies, quicker, straighter and more technically sound punches than Lewis, faster handspeed too... He also has good uppercuts and body shots, he just doesn't need those...
After Wlad i would say Lewis, big uppercuts and a good right too, then Vitali...Comment

“Klitschko had more power, most definitely. In both hands. You could feel it. Put it this way – if it would have been Wladimir in there when his brother fought Lennox Lewis, I think he would have dropped Lennox Lewis. I honestly do. I think he would have dropped Lennox Lewis. This guy fought Lewis and sparred Wlad. I respect your opinion but he would trump yours because he had a real fight with Lewis and sparred Wlad.
You also have to remember Steward knew both more than anyone and also saw both hitting heavy bags/mitts ..sparring etc...
From my own view i see Wlad as the harder crisper puncher when he lands.Lewis is more heavy handed but Wlads speed and accuracy make it a harder punch.
Mercer was older but wlad beat him badly ,Mercer still had that chin ,Lewis couldnt crack it.
My personal experiance with lewis was just a brief slap boxing match in before his fight with Ruddock when i was young ,he trained up in the poconos...lol..he was also a nice guy friendly and he had just started lifting weights then ,utilizing strength and conditioning to his boxing.Comment
