Shakur Stevenson should have signed with Mayweather promotions and hired Al Haymon as his manger to fight on PBC and Showtime signing with Top Rank dumb move

Strait up that's how I'm thinking if I'm him, what can Floyd and haymon do for me as a brand , Floyds brand himself came from arum build up.

Interesting... I see Arum using Shakur to feed his other top guys.
          Let's see what happens

Actually none of Schaefer's have signed with Haymon as a manager.

You are forgetting that Top Rank for Antonio Vargas, Teofimo Lopez, the Brazilian Olympian Robson Concecao and a couple Eastern Europeans I forget their names in addition to conlan and shakur.

Haymon has the most mediocre fighters. Lol. What stars? Danny Garcia has fallen off. Jacobs is being sacrificed to GGG. Wilder could be a star Broner maybe. Thurman-Garcia winner too. But who else? He has too many guys like Gerald Washington and Dominic Breazeale who will never be anything or guys like Charlo who are good but don't sell. Very few stars.

This is assuming that Top Rank will ANY say in Shakur Stevenson's 'brand' or career. The old 'Promoter-controls-my-career' model is almost extinct.

Based on the deliberate moves the kid has made so far (extensive process in selecting of a promoter) and strength/experience of the team he has put around him (J Prince; Andre Ward), I don't think Top Rank's influence will extend beyond providing opponents, photo ops, and flying their banner over the ring when he fights.

My initial thought is that any promoter that signed Stevenson would be in the 'sham promoter' position with Shakur's mgmt. team in the 'Haymon' role.

But time will tell. Still a good get for Arum, though.

Loma will be fighting in the new MGM casino in MD. It's 2 miles from DC. It's a big deal and this casino will host many fights in the future.
