Comments Thread For: Chad Dawson vs. Andrzej Fonfara Added to Garcia-Thurman

NEW YORK Promoter Lou DiBella confirmed that a light heavyweight bout between Chad Dawson and Andrzej Fonfara has been added to the Danny Garcia-Keith Thurman undercard March 4 in Brooklyn. It is possible the Dawson-Fonfara fight could become part of CBS' telecast that night from Barclays Center, either live or on delay. That'll depend on the length of the two fights certain to be televised.

If Dawson wins, and it's a big IF, he's back in the mix in a big way. If he loses, kiss career goodbye

Actually not that bad a fight. If Dawson has anything at all left he could win this fight. If not Fonfara gonna finish him off and retirement will not sound like a bad idea at all. Nothing against Fonfara but another loss is it for Dawson may not end Fonfara in the same way.

Last hurrah for Dawson he is shot to bits. Hard to believe this is the dude that beat Hopkins. Losing to Karpency all but proved he is done. He will get stopped in the middle rounds. Hope I'm wrong tbh.

what are you talking about? chad could very well win this fight.

ward is a beast and chad was coming down in weight to fight him, stevenson hits like a mule kicks and just caught him cold. neither of those losses means he cant get back in the mix.

and he clearly beat karpency, with one arm at that.

this is a good fight, whoever wins is back in the mix. smith, williams jr, alvarez, bute, pascal, beterbiev, barrera.. there are lots of good fights to be made next that could lead to a bigger one and so on..

"Bad" Chad's last shot. It's a winnable fight so he should be motivated.

Good fight, both guys are coming off lows, they need the win to put themselves back in the mix. Boxing feels like its in a great place at the moment.

Dawson being forfeited to relaunch another title bid for Fonfara, an undeserving one. Stopping Chavez Jr does not establish you as a top tier fighter, if anything Stevenson completely exposed this guy for he's worth, a basic heavy hitter.

Should be a fun match up for it's worth, two B- level opponents possibly lower due to Dawson being way beyond his sell by date. Hopefully Dawson is not hurt when he is knocked out cold, I expect Haymon is paying him well for putting his health on the line. I'd hate to think they're taking advantage of this guy.
