Now because ortiz is promoted by hearn this could very well be the end of deontay wilders reign.....hearn might say to ortiz go for the WBC strap and take the title of chicken legs wilder ....beat him and that sets up a big unificatin scrap with AJ ....hearn has promotional rights over both fighters and stands to have all the eggs in his own basket.
Ortiz will i think go the wilder fight because he has been on a mission to get noodle legs wilder in the ring and finish him...its looking bad for wilder

How does this work doesn't Ortiz have to choose between WBC and WBA? He's already in line to face Joshua-Klit winner.

He already is the mandatory for WBA but there is the chance the winner of Joshua/Klitschko fights Pulev next because last time Fury won IBF he got stripped in 2 weeks for not signing to fight Glazkov so I hope they would strip the winner if they don't fight Pulev. So Ortiz may have to wait until 2018 for his shot. If Ortiz doesn't fight Stiverne in the final eliminator it will be either Pulev (unless he waits for Klitschko/Joshua winner) who is WBC #3 or Dillian Whyte fighting Stiverne in the WBC final eliminator. It could be in Ortiz's best interest to fight Stiverne as the winner would get Wilder next by the end of the year. Wilder hasn't done a mando since 2015 so he will be forced to take the fight I assume unless unification comes into play... One thing nobody can forget is Tyson Fury will be back in the spring or summer & I believe he gets a shot at either the WBO or WBA titles upon his return at some point. I think that was the agreement he made with the organizations if he vacated...

It's looking bad for Pops Ortiz.....he couldn't do anything with Malik Scott.

Wilder destroyed that palooka in ONE round.

                At least Wilder's legs work.

Anyone with sense knows the recipe to beat Ortiz is jab and move. He doesn't know how to cut off the ring. Power is useless if you can't hit your opponent. And with Wilder's reach, it should make jabbing before moving that much easier. This of course only matters if Ortiz actually can get past Stiverne.

If Joshua loses Ortiz can go for that belt, and if he wins his promoter will probably have him go after Wilder's title. I think Wilder will try and unify with the Parker vs Fury winner first.
