Comments Thread For: Cotto: If Canelo, De La Hoya Want It - They Have Until December 31

Former four division world champion Miguel Cotto is still very interested in facing Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in a rematch before the end of the year. This past Thursday, Cotto (40-5, 33 KO's) confirmed that his pay-per-view return was called off, because opponent James Kirkland (32-2, 28 KO's) had suffered a fractured nose in training camp. The fight was scheduled for February 25th in Texas.

Deluded. He's been spending too much time with Freddie roach. No rematch required because the first fight was decisive in my opinion.

Cotto will make his highest payday besides if mayweather came out. But fight night he is outweighed 185 to 165 worth it for $ only not a fair fight. Cotto will have rounds where he outboxes and stings canella but canella is just too big he can handle cotto's power he will have 20lbs on him fight night super middle vs almost cruiser. Cotto might do a little better than last time but canella 7-5 easy ballpark pick.

But also cotto hasn't fought in a year could have regressed or got fresher by resting body that has been in the game amateur and pro 20 years? Canella has gotten better late stoppage for canella not impossible it's a wonder what 20 lbs can do

No way in hell Canelo fighting three times this year. He'll fight Chavez Jr. Then, he'll rematch Cotto. GGG gonna have to wait till 2018. It sux, but he just doesn't bring enough money to the table.

Who isn't desperate for a buck? If you boxed risked your life for 20+ years you would turn down most you made since Floyd manny last canella fight? You are a silly boy he didn't make Kirkland drop out amateur fan like 90% of this site

Cotto is the only PPV worthy guy near Canelo's weight division, and that's not saying much. I expect a Cotto rematch in the fall and Oscar saying something along the lines of "We have to make the GGG fight for 2018!" You know, the same line he pitched us last year.
