I think you make a good point for sure. But he was in there with him and what if he feels that Kovalev was too strong for him and that was the best he could do? Because you know how it is, you get in there with a guy and he's a better boxer and he's faster and maybe he outscores you that one time. But he don't ever want to get back in there with you again.

I'm not saying that's what it is here. But if it is, I don't know that I judge him too badly.

        Agreed wonhundred!

Its a ****storm Larry. This is Ward's cashout fight but its not bringing in the numbers to pay him what he wants. I understand his perspective but it sucks to be a fan and think that this fight doesn't happen.

No different than what I've said in the past, can't knock Ward or anyone from retiring from this brutal sport. If his mind ain't in it, why would I want to see him?

What mudslinging? I'm just reminding you how it went: he wanted to fight scrubs for 2m, pitched Paul Smith at 172 to both HBO and Showtime iirc. HBO told him, if you want back on with your pricy tuneups, you gotta commit to Kov fight, Ward cries not fair, double standards. You don't remember any of this? It was all here on the scene.

Talk is cheap, actions mean more. He wanted to be champion and he is despite the gamesmanship for gains. He may play the role of bad guy and talk an unfavorable game, but he obviously didn't win fans as the squeaky clean Olympic champ. Andre despite some low level fights has challenged and defeated all comers in his division and above. That by no means should be considered cowardly.

I said this a while back. Ward talking this a-side mess as if he dominated.

When you humiliate everyone, and face one guy and it looks like you may have loss, you do any and everything to get a rematch. This is his Mayweather/Castillio moment and he didnt even realize it.

Floyd was right in his comments, and Ward manipulated the situation to "Floyd just hating on me" and all you fools fell for it.

Ward is my favorite fighter, but I couldnt rock with his behavior after the fight.

And Kov GAVE him a chance. Kov didnt have to give Ward a fight.

But at this point, I think Ward is going to face him..
