^Beat me to it. Ward won, but I agree with the idea that it would look bad on Ward not to rematch Kovalev after such a close fight. He needs to rematch him.

However, people are too easily fooled by Andre's "retirement" talk. Many of the same clowns that bash Ward were calling Tyson Fury a "genius" when he said THE SAME THING to Wlad when they were negotiating their rematch.

If you pay any attention to Ward interviews, he's all about the psychology. He's speaking to Kovalev's team there, not the fans. I personally think it's an unfortunate move because it shakes the loyalty of the fans, but it's how he wants to play it and he's Andre ***ing Ward. I like Andre Ward and would say he is close to the top, pound-for-pound. I'm not a fan of his though. In my opinion he massively hurts his legacy by ducking the Sergey Kovalev rematch.
