Ward won Olympic gold at 178 you fool! He was the bigger man, he just weight drained at 168 to fight smaller men all these years! Ward can't punch and can't take a punch but is a natural light heavy who is having a tough time making 175 his own words fool.

So a couple bums lose, what about Sam Peter getting thrashed by Pulev? What about Walters & Garry Russell getting beat like they were owned by Loma? I can go on and on. Eastern euros in only their first ten fights winning world titles. Your people? Protected until they can fight for a vacant belt.

Because they don't cherry pick the weakest fighters, they fight the best unlike your fighters these days. Always following the Floyd model of cherry picking paper champs.

??? They cherry pick in their own way. By asking for purse bid as and then last minute not showing up. Or stay in the SHTYest division out there.

Floyd's fought more P4P top 10 fighters than KOV. GGG, Loma COMBINED. So Has Ward.
Name one HOFamer those guys have fought. And close your account if I can make a bunch Floyd,,/Ward has. The only P4P either one fought was Ward LMAO...And GGG would of LOST to him.

Ward did well with Kovalev actually, but he still lost. He was gifted in his prime but he just needs to do the rematch. If he can win fair and square against Kovalev then he'll get respect. Not until then.

Welty welty welty...Nobody lost that fight, nobody really won that fight. You can score it any number of ways, depending on scoring body shots, and most here think any body shot is a foul because they grew up in an era when fighters don't go to the body... And the matter of who initiated the clinching, I saw Kovalev initiate most of the clinches, others say Ward did, to me Ward was attacking the body and Kovalev was clinching, but its a matter of interpretation.

Both guys had their moments. Kovalev knocked Ward down, Ward moved Kovalev back and slowed him down... Nobody totally showed a big enough edge to claim a victory, thats the bottom line.

If I was in charge of boxing I would make it less prohibitive to score a fight as a tie on general principle. Does a fighter win a fight because he connected with 3 more punches? what if the other guy controlled the action? what if some punches looked hard to score either way. Unfortunately scores have to be issued and sometimes a fight is really just not a win for either guy. To say either guy won this fight in a meaningful way is ridiculous.

I cannot believe a seasoned guy like you don't believe Kovalev didn't win that convincingly. Even Larry Merchant thought it was a robbery and you saw Lederman's scorecard. I can agree on it being a narrow fight but NO FUCKING WAY Ward won it.

Ward got points for holding and smothering which translates in Vegas these days as Defense lol!

Kov dominated, Ward survived. Ward got a win just by going the distance. Kov won't let up on the guy this time. He took Ward to serious and gave him respect. Kov saw Ward is weak and in the rematch will end it by round 7.

no he was not, you have no idea what you are talking about

you should not be here if you think that was a dominant performance by Kovalev

continually repeating rubbish, will not make it true

Ward fought in a higher division so that he would not be competing against Andre Dirrell for the sole middleweight Olympic spot
