You're assuming that a purse bid is bad for team Spence. The purse isn't a huge issue here b/c Spence is going to get less money anyway. I can see a situation where they actually want to go to the bid and CBS/Showtime may want to put on the fight in prim time is the US, like the Thurman Garcia fight.

Remember the Stevenson/Kovalev fight went to a purse bid that was won by the Stevenson team. (We know what after the bid)

Haymon has a history of letting his fighters go to a purse bid. (They almost all of these battles)

That's my impression as well. Hearn clearly is blowing smoke out of his ass right now. I don't believe his offer story at all.

What's funny here is that Brook could still vacate if his side doesn't win the bid and claim they didn't like the terms. (The only thing that is set if it goes to a purse bid is the purse split , there are other issues that may cause Brook to pull out; like location)

Not only that, but hearn has never mentioned exactly WHAT the offer was. If hearn is trying to make it seem as if team Spence is ducking the fight, he would've happily come out and said, "we offered 70-30," or something to that effect. Spence had already stated he'd be willing to do it in the UK.

Team Brook has been the one dodging the fight for the better part of 3 months now, so it stands to reason that if Haymon is willing to let it go to a bid, then the offer made by hearn was less than 75-25, if an offer was made at all. Hearn is the only one now negotiating through the media, and hearn has lied about making offers to spence before.

LOL... Take a look at Brook's after fighting pro for over 12 years. One legit fight against Porter and a payday to get smashed by GGG. That's 2 fights of 37.
