  • Comments Thread For: Roach: It Was a Terrible Decision, Cotto Deserves Canelo Rematch

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach would have loved the idea of a rematch between his protege Miguel Angel Cotto and WBO 154-pound champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs). Instead, Cotto is taking on James Kirkland - and Canelo is going to a catch-weight of 164.5 to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on May 6th. The noted trainer thinks that Cotto and Kirkland, who will meet February 25 in Frisco, Texas, will deliver a much better show than what is expected from the much-talked-about clash between Canelo and Chavez Jr.

Still begging for that rematch and still cant accept that outside himself, Cotto and his dumb ass fanboys that they lost that fight. No wonder they get along so well, they live in denial. Pathetic.

Canelo won this fight clear. He was simply too big. It felt like Cotto had no power on his shots against someone that size.

Anyway, as long as Canelo fights GGG first this year, then Cotto would be a good comeback opponent for the loser of that fight.

I'm starting to lose respect for Roach by the way, even as someone who likes Pacquiao (who didn't like Pacquiao? He fought everyone). But it seems like Roach is just about money lately. Pushing Pacquiao to fight Canelo. Lying about a "terrible decision" with Cotto just to push for the Canelo rematch. Why not just say it was close and you want a rematch? That's more understandable Cotto's trainer would say, both for legacy and money, to get another shot. But flat out lying about a "terrible decision" just to push this rematch no one else wants to see before GGG-Canelo? Come on that is ridiculous.

it seems like every close fight is a robbery, and this one wasnt, i thought canelo won and it wasnt close like roach thinks, the bad thing is he keeps talking and canelo and golden boy will probably do the rematch overvthe ggg fight

Stfu cuckroach, Canelo won and no one wants to see this **** fight again. Canelo needs to man up and fight GGG, Cotto should be fighting the Charlos or Brook.
