Just Rewatched Porter vs Thurman. Gave it to Porter

Close fight. Wouldn't complain either way. Expected more from Thurman. Just as I expected more from Brook when he fought Porter. Just shows Porter is no joke. Gave both a tough fight where an argument could be made that he won.

The fight was fought more on the inside and on the ropes than it was at the center of the ring. While Porter did good, but Thurman did better on the center. Porter crushed Thurman on the inside, bullying him against the ropes.

Thurman did had some nice moments, but it wasn't enough for Porter's work rate on the inside. Short inside punches wasn't counted, but all we had is replays of Thurman catching porter with nice shots in the center of the ring while blatantly ignoring the inside work of porter in the ropes.

Yes, inside work is rarely appreciated which is probably why it is taught so little these days. Porter a rare, special inside fighter.

I remember having Porter winning 115-113. but with a lot of swing rounds, it could have gone either way.

I scored it for Porter too but it was close enough to go to Thurman. There should have been an immediate rematch, yet both men went into inactivity.

I had it 7-5 Thurman. Porter was aggressive but overall Thurman landed the more authoritative punches. It was a good fight but the right guy got the W.

Brook didn't win easy on the cards. People just seem to hate Porter for some reason. I thought the decision could have went either way, just as the Thurman vs Brook decision could have went either way.
