Which fans actually want this fight? There was Muhammad Ali vs Antonio Inoki, which was a huge disappointment. Even then it was not a "boxing only" fight. Why would anyone even bother to see this fight where the best ever is fighting a guy not in his own territory? What exactly is McGregor's advantage?

Probably because 99% of Conors cage work is stand up boxing .

If this fight happens Conor deserves so much respect and legacy for bringing that much fame to himself and the UFC.

The result of the fight is academic.

I don't blame Floyd for saying "why does Dana make more money when it's Conor in the ring doing the fighting! ".

Mayweather $$ are from smart self promotion and not getting ripped off by promoters.

Problem with that mindset is the sport suffers. Wealth is not spread around and only one or two greedy persons take most of the profit. MMA, especially, needs huge funding given the number of fighters they have to pay, not to mention the huge amounts of money they spend on promotions.

I don't know exactly how much boxing promoters make. Most reports say they don't make much like you read in this site. PBC investors are losing millions. Result is massive inactivity.

              - UFC/MMA casual fans who watch the sport solely because they love pro wrestling style drama with a real fight at the end (even if the fight itself is low quality or borderline freakshow fight) and prefer it over a decent fight with no interesting back story. Those guys just want to see the build up which will involve tons of trash talk and mainstream media attention.
              - uneducated casual boxing/fight fans who actually think Coner has a chance and would love to see some underdog story unfold in front of their eyes. The fans who love to pay for any fight that is billed as a huge "once in a lifetime" fight, the same people who were "fooled" by May vs Pac.
              - Conor McGregor fans (because they want him to make the most money possible and avoid the most dangerous fighters in his own sport at the same time)
              - Floyd fans (because they want him to make the most money possible and avoid the most dangerous fighters in his own sport at the same time)
              - probably some boxing purists who would like to see the MMA fighter and the entire sport humbled

Fans who don't want to see the fight (but will likely end up watching it anyway):
              - hardcore MMA fans
              - hardcore boxing fans

In the USA, the first group all together consists of more than a million people (the people who bought all those huge million+ UFC and boxing PPVs over the last years) and the second group consists of circa 100k people each, you know the people who watch Mighty Mouse fights and buy PPVs like Kovalev vs Ward. It's not hard to see which group brings more financial profit, that's why Floyd vs Conor will get made unless UFC owners/Dana White complicate things and try to get too much money for themselves.

Smh floyd exposed truth came to light the fans was right

Why didnt he want to give the fans the pacquiao fight in pacs prime? The fans demanded it for years and he kept avoiding the question and was not this eager
Arum was willing, yet floyd told people its arum why the fight cant be made, now dana white really hates floyd, yet floyd is not making any cry saying but conor cant fight me his promoter dana white hates my guts and wont do business.

He is so eager and almost begging for this mma fighter to box. All of a sudden he cares what the fans want and wants to give them a fight? I dont know any fan clamoring for this fight. He wants an easy low risk fight high rewaard.

Kellerman asked him why not fight a healthy pacquiao ina rematch over conor, floyd answered its about fighting smarter not harder. Smh

Its,sad, how his pro black fans keep writing long essays to defend this guy only for him to embarras them and make them look ******, like the catchweight, the racism, now the cherry pick non boxer for cash grab. Floyd said he is not a legacy fighter on first take, he said no i dont get competitive juices meaning he doesnt like to challenge himself like other fighters against the tough guys.

Floyd fans scream black lives matter, and say racists hate floyd, floyd screams all lives matter lol, floyd defends sterling, floyd disses pac and floyd fans agree that pac uses catchweight, floyd drains canelo lol, floyd fans diss roman gonzalez, floyd says roman gonzalez is number one pound for pound, floyd fans love ward, floyd said ward lost to kova dang, these floymos need a new idol to push their inferiorty race bais complex the guy they worship doesnt care about their afenda he just used them like a pimp.

Manny refused to fight nothing Floyd could do. Soon as Manny was ready, they fought and Floyd won. Lets move on.

As for this, I hope it doesn't happen but it seems like casual fans are intrigued by it and want to see it.
