Or when Canelo himself fought a way past-prime Mosley and couldn't even knock him down like Manny Pacquiao did a couple of fights before, being much smaller than Canelo. Canelo may try and show off a win over Mosley in his resume, but really who cares? Under the circumstances, he was beating a much older and way past-prime Mosley. So if a similar thing happens vs. GGG, IMO Canelo will still not be worth being considered a top-10 P4P contender. He has to defeat GGG in 2017 at the latest, provided that GGG gets past Jacobs in the 1st place (and Canelo himself gets past a skeleton of Chavez Jr. as well).
lol. What are you talking about Floyd ''waited'' for Pac to get old? How much older is Floyd to Pac? Ironically, why do you think this forum had its lovely drama that Pac didn't sign 40mil nor want specific Drug testing in 2010?

    and

Do you know how BIG Oscar was when he fought Floyd? Do you know how big Oscar was when he fought Sturm or Bhop?

Just so you know, he weighed it at 145 vs Pacquiao. If you don't find that peculiarly off then I suggest you watch tennis. but tennis dope doe. especially dem big booty hoes

That's exactly what Mayweather Jr. did vs. Pacquiao. He waited and waited. Then, Marquez almost killed Manny. Even so, Manny was back in the game (I don't remember any other ATG top name who got nearly killed and successfully came back to fight at nearly the same level as before being brutally KO'd). BTW many people, knowledgeable people, that is, experts and commentators who aren't American and aren't related to Mayweather Jr. in any way, as in not having any vested interest in his career, did see Manny as the winner.

So, obviously, Canelo is waiting for those two things: 1) For somebody else to inflict both physical and emotional (decreased confidence) damage to GGG. 2) For father time to do his job, so GGG becomes less strong, less accurate and less dangerous, thus an easy target for a younger, faster and possibly stronger opponent in Canelo.

Canelo won't get much credit whenever he beats him. Golovkin will be viewed as an hype job that lost as soon as he stepped up in competition.

Sounds like excuses are being made for 666 for just I case he loses to a real middleweight.........I'm sick of all the fake hype (journalist, commentating) in boxing....Pauline is the best commentator in the game by far!

Probably true. GGG is in his mid 30's.

Froch is feeling intimidated by Golovkin.

He knows that his legacy at 168 could be overshadowed when GGG moves up there to make history.

Damn the obsession is real. Every interview he talks about golovkin. What is about ggg that makes other men question their manhood? Reminds me of sugarkainswallower on NSB.

i don't know whether GGG's abilities are yet declining due to age. What i do know is that there's a high variance among individuals, so at 34 the decline could be a little or a lot or not at at all.

if Froch has seen evidence to support his claim he hasn't shared it with us.

i've been following boxing for two decades and it seems to me there are a few factors which substantially contribute to age-related decline:

                  > difficulty of making weight: hard training and nutrition deprivation don't mix well--my guess is that both the psychological stress of hard training and not being able to consume all of the calories you would otherwise need, as well as the chronic physical stress placed on the body caused by numerous rapid weight fluctuations

                  > getting knocked out or knocked down

                  > the fighter's lifestyle between camps. One fighter i liked was Ricky Hatton; i believe he only fought once after the age of 31, which was a knock-out loss which ended his attempted come-back. No idea whether his lifestyle was a contributing factor though. It's well known though that his weight weight way up between fights.

so applying this to GGG, here's a guy that has never been knocked out or even knocked down; who apparently walks around at 165 - 170 (stays in shape all year around); and obviously has no trouble making weight--he's a small middleweight (his 30-day weigh-in for the Brook fight was 165).
