I have no idea how you come to that conclusion. Compubox, which I rarely talk about positively has JC landing over a 100 more punches. I dunno how accurate that is because neither guy seemed to land more than a handful of clean shots per round but there is no doubt JC was busier and controlled the fight in every part of the ring.

As I said at the time of the bout, it was so dirty and ugly both guys should have been deducted points and scored a draw but if you have to pull for a winner in such a fight, it has to be the guy who throws and lands more. Simple, basic boxing.

so you don't think compubox is a useful tool then as part of your argument you cite how compubox had calzaghe landing more? doesn't make much sense.

there was a comprehensive video of how many punches were landed and hopkins outlanded calzaghe in a majority of the roudns so your conclusion that calzaghe was landing more is off. yeah hopkins didn't land that many compared to ward-gatti but he landed more than calzaghe who was his opponent so the handful of punches argument holds no weight. he only has to be better than calzaghe and he was.

also calzaghe threw more for sure but that just means hopkins should get credit for defense for slippng and making calzaghe miss so much. defense is a scoring criteria not throwing punches.

i don't know how you can control the fight if your opponent outlands you and lands the much harder punches. did hopkins get tired in the later roudns and lost some of them? yes, but that doesnt retroactively give calzaghe early rounds that he was outlanded in.

ive seen him beating up a 40 year old, european level fighter in his last fight. People watched that and got so excited. What gets me annoyed is the arrogance and the certainty that spence is going to be p4p type level. How does anyone know if hes any good until he fights someone who will throw punches back at him? Trust me i know what i was talking about cause unlike most on this forum, i was following boxing during the calzaghe lacy fight and i remember what the build up was like. There styles are different but theres not a huge huge contrast, its not like im comparing spence to whittaker. Lacy and spence are both offensive fighters who are walking/walked through garbage opposition and didnt have to take a step back. You and others are getting upset cause im raising doubts about your golden boy, youve all thrown your eggs in the spence basket as the next entertaining american superstar. Its downright pathetic, got more fans of spence on here thn people have proven their worth like porter, bradley, thurman.

This has nothing to do with my opinion on Spence. I came in here, looking to discuss boxing, and found a totally idiotic statement about how Errol Spence and Jeff Lacy have similar styles.
