taylor also may have more power then vargas and he has a jab and a strong over-hand right. taylor is smart enough to know that if winky wants to jab, then taylor will jab with him and take his jab.

i think taylor is a bit of a counter puncher and doesn't mind leading or countering a figher, he can be pattient when he wants to and making this fight easier will be winky coming straight at him, lol, and to top it off, jermain taylor has in my opinion one of the best corner people in the bussniess, taylors trainer gives great advice to taylor and taylor listens, every which way i look at this fight i still end up with taylor beating winky, and this ain't only because i dislike winky but all you have to do is look at winkys resume and how he fought those fighters and where those fightes were in their career.
Yes, and that being said....when the night was done I scored the fight in favor of Wright....because he won far too many of the early rounds for Nando to make up.

I'm not sold on Taylor having more power than Vargas. He might have some snap in his right hand, but it really doesn't compare to the looping punches upstairs that Nando throws. Not in my book it doesn't. And I suppose you could make the case for Taylor being the bigger man....but I don't know about that.

Vargas should be a middleweight. He fought primarily at 154 when he was lean, but he walks around at 190 and is around 5'11.

Taylor is 6'1, but longer and lean and not as compact.

The way to beat Wright is to get inside on him like Vasquez and Nando did.....and try and get him out of his shell.

Because Taylor isin't going to sit back and try and potshot the much better and more technical fighter.

that was like a person throwing eggs at a tank.

And the person throwing eggs was one of the hardest punchers boxing has ever laid it's eyes on.

His experience against Hopkins will help him when he fights Winky, as Winky is a very difficult guy to figure out also. Taylor couldn't have gotten better experience for a Winky Wright fight than 2 fights with Bernard Hopkins.
what up with the emanual stwward comment? i know you're better then that

check out his fight with bo james, and tell me that wasn't a horrable fight for both fighters. or segundo mercado who beat hopkins in their first fight.

hopkins did look great against antwon echols 2, and against a few other fighters though but to say hopkins makes fighters look amaturish im not to sure about that.

im having a difficult time to distingush stewards commentary from atlas commentary, i felt like hitting mute everytime steward would say mayorga fought amatursih, then say an amature is better? are you sure steward?

do you seriously belive taylor will fight any different then what his style is? his style is made to beat winky. what better way to beat a fighter then tatto his ass as he's coming forward. and i ain't talking about taylor pot shotting winky and boxing im talking about him standing his ground and as winky comes in, jab, jab, shorten the jab, then bam!, overhand right, which then as you have said inside punching cause it will be available.

yeah, maybe vargas hits harder, but no denying that taylor has power, and a wicked over-hand right that is perfect to hit winky with and to set-up other punchs.

taylor is a ****y fighter, but humble at the same time, and i seen in those fights with hopkins that he will adapt to his opponet. taylor too skiled, too powerfull and too much of a champions demeanor to lose to winky.

the fact that he hasnt lose in almost 10 years, beat shane and tito, should of beat vargas but got the bad end of that deal. dont you think that gives him p4p rankings?

i mean its a little bit better than some one being p4p after going 3-1-1 in the past 5 fights.

                  I don't see it.

The only way to beat Wright is to hope you can tag him hard enough with looping punches downstairs and upstairs and he lets his gaurd down to fire.

Because as it stands....I think Taylor will over-reach with the jab and pay with the straight Left hand.

Pretty much everything Taylor throws....Winky will catch.

he's like Piazza...he'll catch the fastballs and if they're fast....he'll just grin and bear it and throw back to the pitcher.

A lot of people like Winky, but I'd say the nuthugging goes to Taylor. I think what differentiates nuthugging and liking a fighter can often be the reasons behind it. I haven't heard a particular good reason as to why Taylor will win against Winky.

Pretty much the exact way I see it. Also, I wouldn't be suprised if in the later rounds Winky rocks Taylor with a hook or two. Taylor will get sloppy and try to throw some combos and Winky in his never-ending patience will let em' have it.
