Or would the focus be on errol spence being untested and unproven, and would the angle be that 'spence wasnt what we thought he was' rather than brook being better than people thought he was?
Would people than point to spences previous opposition and would they start saying, 'well who had spence beaten that proved him to be a top fighter and a great win?' thereby diminishing the win. Much in the way that many on here dont give calzaghe credit in retrospect for beating lacy, as although heavily hyped, he did not have a good name on his cv (sound familiar?)
So, what do you think, would brook winning be a result of brook being a true world class fighter and a great performance, or would it be due to spence not being the real deal? How would it likely be perceived...
It would be a great win! P4P? No probably not but a good start. #1 at 147? Not with a Garcia/Thurman fight on the horizon.

based on what exactly? I don't see his claim any more valid than Garcia or Thurman and not as good as Pac or Bradley.

He would get credit for defending his belt like he did against Jo jo dan and Brazier.

Maybe not P4P or #1 at 147 but he would get a **** ton more credit for beating Spence than these bums.

Nobody can deny that Spence is a top guy in the welterweight division. A convincing win over him will earn anyone credit. If Kell Brook beat Spence I would probably have him as the best in the division because his chin is obviously solid and he has pretty good skills. P4P top 10 yes but probably number 9 or 10.

Not much.. Because honestly, Spence hasnt really fought anyone worth mentioning. It'll be a good win but it ain't gonna be anything crazy. I know some ninjas gonna feel sour about this but I'm just keeping it 100.

GG ain't fought anyone worth mentioning and you stay on his balls.

At least Spence ain't pushing 35.

                  I'm just keeping that 100.

Garcia will get his ass beat by every top 5 guy at 147.

The dude lost to Herrera clearly at 140; he was very lucky to get the decision against Peterson. The guys at 147 are going to smack him around.

Kell Brook is better than all of these guys and if they actually fight him then he will beat every last one of them.
