This card deserved more than that. It was pure entertainment from start to finish, both in and out of the ring

Fact of the matter is showtime has lost half its audience in the last few years and like me, I bet a lot cancelled last year when Haymon took all the fights off their network to other channels.. showtime offers almost nothing else worth watching for me so I'm not paying the monthly fee anymore.. this is not a knock on the fights they're putting in now, they are of high quality...
Losing all those fighters in 2015 either to HBO or to PBC networks crippled Showtime. Long stretches with no fights killed their brand. Now they are too dependent on Haymon who can move a fighter from one network to another. If you subscribe to HBO you watch the same fighters career arch. If you like a specific fighter you know where to find him, you know his next fight will be on a Sat on the same HBO channel. If you like a fighter on Showtime his next fight might be on tues, friday, sat, ect and no telling what channel it will be. If by some odd reason you are a fan of Lara who fought early in the year on Showtime his last fight was this Friday on SpikeTV which does NOTHING for Showtime boxing.

They spend years building up Leo Santa Cruz and his biggest fight with Mares was on ESPN. By the time he came back to Showtime after a year without airing Santa Cruz fights he flops with his fight with Frampton. You don't think if he fought consistently ONLY on Showtime and if the Mares showdown was on Showtime that his fight with Frampton doesn't draw bigger ratings? Of course it does. Same thing happened with Jacobs who they built but then Haymon sent to PBC fights not on showtime for about a year he comes back for a fight with Quillin that bombed then leaves showtime for rematch with Mora on Spike. And now he is fighting GGG on HBO. So what benefit was the Quillin fight for Showtime? There is no momentum a network can build by doing this.

Agree with this. The low ratings illustrate how important it is to be able to generate a buzz before the fight to get people interested.

Hopefully, Floyd uses the ESPN platforms to bring attention to the next event he promotes rather than talk about himself, his past, and the McGregor BS!

yikes. I was expecting better. The biggest name in boxing was out there promoting this **** heavy. When Haymon took his fighters off Sho it really killed their momentum.

It would be on HBO ppv.

Nobody would buy or see it.

Haymon's fighters are still on Showtime.

You think the guys fighting on PBC are somehow banned from Showtime???

you know what your problem is? you're just slow...you must stare blankly at posts before responding and when you realize you can't comprehend what you're reading, you just type some nonsense as some poor attempt at cognition. I'm not mad, bruh, but you'll never know cause you'll never understand what I just wrote. Maybe this will settle your hoe ass down

Clarify something for me guys, does the ratings take into account people watching the fight through streaming services from showtime?
