Ofcourse making 168 is easy for him. How in earth would it be hard to NOT have to cut weight at all? He could probably make 168 tomorrow

Basically, Golovkin is a straight up middleweight. Not a junior, not really a super middle, though he could move up in a year or so.
The man is 35 years old; there's no "moving up in a year or so"; Golovkin got as big as he was going to get by the time he was 31/32.

"small middleweight" comes up when he has to try and justify taking a **** fight at 160lbs, over a better fight at 168lbs.

So why fight Ward at 164, but Chavez Jr. without a belt and Q4 retiring Froch at 168 for a big money fight?

        ''you know...jusssss....I'm small middleweight!''

Golovkin is a full fledged middleweight. Saying he is small is just an excuse in defense of not moving up to fight Ward.

GGG can make junior middleweight, and therefore, is a small middleweight.

He is just a professional always in shape not like broner and brook who balloon up in weight in between fights which is why he is so close to weight so far out. But I don't think he would be smaller if he puts on a few pounds of muscle to move up a division.

He is the best at middleweight in my opinion but to be great he needs the big fights which apart from canelo would be to move up a division. A fight with degale in the UK would be massive.

He probably would be drained at 154/155.

because a unification fight at a catchweight would be absolutely ridiculous.

plus GGG was the mandatory and had absolutely no reason to agree to a catchweight.

It's just an excuse not to move up.
