    Not really

I don't see anybody moving up 2 divisions to fight Spence.

Because you're judging him based on skill/eye test, which is fine, but why can't you apply the same logic with Spence instead of being double-standard? Do you not think Spence looks every bit as impressive as Beterbiev on the eye?
nah its a different situation. Beterbiev has a vast amateur pedigree and has beat kovalev twice in the amateurs. He also gave usyk tough fights in the amatuers despite being much smaller. This, coupled with how impressive he looks as a pro means hes worthy of a degree of hype. Ive also never made fantasy fights of beterbiev against ATG's, like people have with spence.

Why is spence getting so much more hype than anyone else? Does an offesnive minded fighter beating someone with no punch power really impress people that much? America has a world class welterweight in thurman already but noone seems to be getting behind him, they are all viewing this unproven kid as the next big cheese.

Pretty sure weve been down this road before with fighters, where they demolish weak opposition, the hype machine goes into full swing and then when they step it up, they get found out. J rock was a pretty recent example. People dont learn that offensive fighters are going to look especially good against fighters who arent on their level. WHen someone fights offensively as spence, of course they are going to put these guys away quiker than less offensive fighter.

Spence has not fought anyone with decent pop and skills who can fight back. So can we stop saying that world class fighters like kell brook are ducking him.
And for the record im not saying spence wont be any good, im saying the hype is getting ridiculous for what hes done so far in his career, its almost like hes guaranteed to be the next huge superstar when he is literally not proven in the slightest so far.
I completely agree. Jrock is a perfect example. I like spence but I dont see y he has so much hype

          errol spence

if errol spence isn't showing the making of greatness in the ring, then who is? just curious. a lot of u are anti-boxer. all u do is bash fighters. why bother typing words if its just to bash ppl? u look for any little flaw to pick apart and analyze. too many ppl do that. as for kell brook, whether he was being strategic for a pay day or not, he can never be said to be ducking anyone. after a broken eye socket from GGG, would any one of u go right back in with errol spence in your next fight? hell no. that would be completely ******. Floyd needs to give the fans something b4 he officially retires- a real fight. when floyd sees a fighter with potential to clean him up, he befriends them and sics them on everyone else, so nobody beats the drum for him to take the challenge himself. stop saying who errol needs to fight, Floyd, and YOU ****ing fight him.

well you said they after daggum used the "slick lover" term which we all know what that is code for.

Americans are not hyping him like crazy. I showed before you over exaggerated what some new poster said about Spence/Hearns. The thread has 22 posts FFS!

You are manufacturing this controversy because a few posters that like Spence a lot and are bullish on his future.

Basically you, laced up, and a few others got mad about people posting about Spence because they don't do the same for guys you like.

Come on dude, thats just terrible.

but the thing is crawford's best win was against gamboa and spence's best win was against algieri. yes, the same algieri that manny got crucify for fighting.

The difference is Bietrbiev is not American so you don't have the same bias against him that you do American fighters.

i'm talking betting odds. not anecdotal evidence of what a couple people think.

here is a quote from 2005 "They have Calzaghe as the favourite at 4/6 and Lacy as the underdog at 11/10"
