This sucks but it's true. I think the majority of NSB posters have no idea how popular boxing was before the 90s and it seems to just be fading away.

No one who is a real fan of the sport would try to claim that GGG is unpopular or doesn't deserve a percentage of the pie against Canelo. He's really not a world away from ginger kid in terms of popularity, that's for sure. I hope the Jacobs fight strengthens that point.

agreed... personally it doesn't change my life one bit if GGG or Canelo make less for the fight but if they don't think what they get is fair the fight won't happen, for me i just want the good fights to happen.

This is not a measure of popularity.

It is simply a measure of how many hits someone makes in the news plus how many searches done plus etc.

As expected, when news about a fighter is made, they will trend upwards.

                That simple.

When the numbers from the Jacobs/Lil g fight get tallied, we will know how popular Golovkin is.

LMAO. GGG fanboys are just embarrassing themselves. This is up there with the idiots who argued on these boards that GGG was just as popluar as Canelo and Cotto and weeks before the Lemiuex fight were predicting 500K PPV sales because quote "There are more posts about GGG then those guys before their most recent fights" and posting Google search pie charts. Of course the GGG fight bombed doing less then 150k buys. Only an idiot thinks GGG is a popular as Canelo if you think that you in for another rude awakening when the Jacobs fight numbers come in.
