More profitable fight GGG vs Canelo or Chavez vs. Canelo

I hear people here saying that Chavez is worth more than GGG... for Canelo... they must be dreaming.

Even if you go to the Mexican fan base GGG vs Canelo will sell more than Chavez vs. Canelo, so at the end of the day GGG is worth more than Chavez.

Chavez has the name but really he has done so little over the last few years that he isn't worth a whole lot, not that he ever did a lot, he just rode of his father's success.

Anyways, i am posting a poll to see which fight is worth more, and that should answer the question if GGG should get more than Chavez.

Two Mexicans facing each other will be more lucrative than a Mexican against the guy claiming to be 'Mexican style' or whatever it was they coined that GGG promotion to adhere him to the Mexican fan base.

Anybody suggesting otherwise is a dumb ass.

I'd agree if Chavez was still relevant anymore.

I can name tons of Mexican vs Mexican fights that are not nearly as big as GGG vs Canelo, heck there are probably several you've seen on undercards recently. In fact I can go further and say that there are fights with Mexicans Canelo has had that are not as big as a GGG fight (take for instance, Angulo). Takes more than nationality to sell tickets and PPVs.

Jr's dad may be a legend but that's not proof that people care to see him in the ring.

Golovkin has been offered a lot more than Chavez will make.

I personally believe that the Golovkin fight will be MUCH MORE lucrative.

              But, that's not the point.

When purses for these kind of matches are negotiated, no one talks about potential.

You cannot forward a bargaining position based on speculation; you can only document a track record and extrapolate from there what you feel you are worth.

JCC jr. has a financial track record much more lucrative than Lil g.

And because of that, he will command more than Gennady, at least initially.

A loss or bad showing against Jacobs, or even another poorly performing PPV, and he will get offered less than Jr.

That's great but it's not Ppv in Mexico. There's never been 2 Mexicans coming close to 1m ppvs, much less a drained bum off bein sport vs boxings #1 duck
