Ward has negative punching power with only 1 hand at the elite level. his strongest attributes in the ring are illegal.

Canelo and GGG are there. And Jacobs is there. I would argue Jacobs is better than Degale and Jack p4p. Jacobs, Degale and Jack all have a loss against subpar competition. Other than that, Jacobs has been more dominant against other MW's with KOs against top contenders. He's not going to draws and snatching gifts over bums like Porky.


Both offensive and defensive juggernauts by the #'s. KO power offensively in either hands for both of them. Both pretty good defensive fighters.

Both fighters can go all 12 throwing down the stretch.

Both actual boxer punchers. no illegal tactics.

Well, MW is looking much better then a few years back, I'll give you that. When SWW like Charlo and Lara move up it'll be even better. Then there's new blood like that dude who just upset one of the Eastern Euros and I'm interested to see what Devon Alexander's brother can do at 160.

Canelo, GGG and Jacobs top 3 at 160. that is already better than LHW and SMW.


Kovalev and Gift Ward are very flawed fighters with another titlist being a full time cement mixer. before that a geriatric 50 yr old. having the record as the oldest man to ever win a championship is an accomplishment but i believe it says the most about the division. The LHW division is the weakest in boxing that's why a damn 50 yr old can still be a title contender.

LHW is worse than the era of HW's when Michael Moorer became champ and Foreman beat him for the strap. At least Moorer was a full time fighter and Foreman was only in his 40's.



LHW is up running for the worst division in boxing history.
