Crawford needs to move up to 147 where there are several interesting opponents for him.

140 is a division that never even existed during most of boxing history.

      Aaron Pryor
      Terence Crawford
      Julio Ceasar Chavez Sr
      Kostya Tszyu
      Barney Ross

      Thoughts?
      Locche should be there too.

To your question, I don't think he would be in with the elite 140 lbers. Postol was a very good win, but his other wins don't jump out. In beating Khan and Matthysse I think Danny Garcia has a better claim to ATG 140 status than Crawford. Even if I think Crawford would beat Danny.

        140 has existed since 1923.

I think Looche would be the only one to give Crawford fits. I think Craig UDs Pryor and Chavez. Stops Ross and Uzyku.

            Only as a catchweight...

Not formally recognized as an official weight division until many decades later.

But amateur career is not determining a profesionnal career. If you know a bit Crawford history, you certainly heard of him getting shot after playing a dice game in the street. That was i believe like one day before he had a fight comming. I think Crawford real starting point in his career is that event. Since then, he became serious with his career and took it to the next level.

As for the Mayweather comparison. I, too, believe Crawford is the same caliber of Mayweather. For the reason that no matter how good the competition he face is, he always made it look easy, just like Mayweather always did. He's a clear level above every of his opponents. I think he has better offense than Mayweather ever had. Maybe Mayweather defense is a bit better, but Crawford take more risk, is more offensive minded than Mayweather. Honestly, i think Crawford is more a threat to anyone than Mayweather ever was. When your in the ring with Crawford, it's a real fight you're in. Your're facing no guy who's going to run for 12 rounds to not get hit. You know it's going to be a war. Who has Crawford fought that he did not hurt multiple time during the fight? And Crawford is less predictable on his style than Mayweather. You can never know how he's going to fight, he's just so versatile, more versatile than Mayweather for sure. Mayweather ever had one good defensive technique he used and was the best at it. Crawford actually have a better ring IQ, be cause he always adjust to his opponents, he dosent have a predetermined style.
You haven't seen Floyd at the lower weights. He was much more offense-minded then.

And Floyd has a higher ring IQ than Crawford. He would have shut out Dulorme, Burns, or Lundy. He's adjusted against better fighters than Crawford has.

Speaking of versatility, Floyd can fight on the inside as well as the outside.

Good point. But crawford is better at cutting off the ring. I'll put it to you this way. I couldn't see Floyd beating Roberto Duran at 140 but I could see Crawford stopping Duran like Hearns did because Crawford is the better pure boxer.

I would love to see how he would handle Spence and Thurman
