How can anyone objectively claim Joe Louis is more skilled than Tyson Fury? How can you compare Tyson Fury's razor sharp, pinpoint accurate jabs, hooks, crosses and uppercuts to Louis' sloppy arm slaps? You never, ever see Fury clinching and coasting rounds, while Louis did nothing but initiate more clinches than he threw actual punches.

Dempsey would destroy guys like Klitschko, Joshua, Fury, Parker, and Wilder.

They wouldn't know what to do again at his head movement and two fisted body attack.

Dempsey was a giant slayer. Like Sharkey said, "If Dempsey hit you on the shoulder he breaks your shoulder. If he hits you to the body it felt like his fist came out your back. If he hit you on the hip he dislocated your hip" What do you think prime Dempsey was like??? All of the guys today are a bunch of marys and couldn't crush a g**** let alone Jack Dempsey. Dempsey feasted upon big men. Boxing was much more of a science in the 1910s than it is in the 2010s. At least for heavyweights.

NSB went full ****** in this thread...

What you can't knock is the history behind some of those fights. I mean Joe vs Max how can any HW bouts from today compare to that. America vs **** Germany, these guys were fighting for countries. Everything is watered down now adays, we had Tyson Montana vs Dr Steelhammer.
As for Dempsey if you teleported him from back in time then he'd probably be KO'd by Amir Mansour.
Could you explain to me how fighters today are better than Dempsey?

Dempsey was a freak, had a tremendous amount of power for a small man. There are stories of him beating down grown men when he was just a street kid so that he could afford a meal. It's kind of hard to compare him to today's fighters because his generation was like coming from another world. It'd be great to see him versus someone like Lennox Lewis.

He wouldn't be able to fight at heavyweight. He was about the size of Andre Ward.

Except he would never fight them to begin with because he would be a LHW nowadays. He wasn't even big enough for cruiser.

Of course he was big enough to be a cruiser.

He was over 6ft, with a 77" reach, and he weighed just under 200 pounds, in the days of same day weigh-ins.
