Him losing that fight was probably the best thing that ever happened to him.

yeah but also the ref shouldn't have pushed Jacobs back down and allowed him to get up, he was definitely hurt but he wasn't out cold and after he gathered his thoughts from the shock he tried to get up. Did anyone else notice that the ref shoved him back down?

He was asleep for five seconds. It was a good call to stop it.

Boxing is mental just as it is physical. If you mentally give up you are basically done

I don't put a lot of stock in Jacobs' one loss by KO to Pirog when he was 23. Fighters can improve! Look at Pacquiao. He loss by KO to Rustico Torrecampo in 1996 (at age 18), and he loss to Medgoen Singsurat by TKO in 1999 (at age 21). Did Pacquiao improve? Hell Yeah!

yeah you are right, and well said. People dont seem to understand in boxing that fighters can improve. If someone loses early in career 'thats it theyve been exposed, they are no good' and they get thrown on the scrap heap. Just as with any sport, fighters can improve and they can learn from bad performances and losses. Physically he looks far more imposting too now than he did back then.

Yeah that's one way to see it but he tried to get up the ref should have allowed him, it wasn't 5 seconds that I counted but he did lay there motionless for a few... so I can see ur point

the ref was in deep with the russian mob. he did what he was told even though it was just a flash knockdown.
