it ran its course because boxing is a niche sport. not exciting like MMA. also having it on different networks makes it a joke. WTF is Spike TV? I dont even know if i have that.

PBC is a disaster despite what the black supremacists/al haymon fanboys want you to believe. the sport has seen decreasing popularity and fewer good fights and, in all fairness ,across the spectrum, not just with pbc. Whilst all this is happening they engage in a misguided solace of al haymons quest for a monopoly as if somehow haymons strategy has benefited boxing or will do in the future.

Al haymon is responsible for inflated fighter purses. Remember when he used personal alliances that came from his ties in the entertainment world to get HBO to pay 1.2million for berto vs hernandez. pbc fighter purses were hugely inflated last year. And he is paying networks for tv slots. If the ad revenue/viewing figures and live gates arent high enough then its an unsustainable business model. pbc will shrink this year.

I believe in the idea and concept..

But the execution has been horrible and pbc will probably fail

It's been 2 years and they literally have done nothing to capture and grow an audience let alone land a tv deal... guys like wilder, Thurman and Danny are in the exact same position they were in 2 years ago when pbc started...

I have said from day one, they needed to be on one channel, same day, same time, every week and make the most competitive matchups available with the roster..

Had pbc been successful in their efforts over 2 years, a fight like Thurman-Danny should be a huge blockbuster on ppv and not a network show that pulls the same ratings as the Monday night raw after wrestlemania

You should gladly watch any and all boxing. Who is telling you not to? Who said you should pick and choose? I am being well compensated for my time, but your accusations are off the mark.

Some here took the position that Haymon wasn't delivering any quality match ups. I simply pointed out that he delivered way more than HBO. That doesn't mean you should pick and choose. That doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy everything. It just means HBO is no longer the #1 source of big time boxing. And that's okay. Watch everything and enjoy it all.

then why have all of the most viewed fights been PBC fights? several different PBC broadcasts peaking at 3, 4, 5 even 6 million viewers, compared to maybe 700,000 on HBO.

how did suddenly 5 million boxing viewers that didn't exist before appear out of thin air if PBC didn't garner mainstream attention?

HBO, as a brand, represents the top level of the sport, and i think it was a mistake for Haymon to try and challenge that before becoming more established in the sport.
Haymon could see that HBO's boxing budget was shrinking and shrinking. So he could either try to grow the boxing broadcaster pie, or, slowly die like GB/TR/ME are doing now.

Showtime is already spending more on boxing than HBO. So right off the bat, Haymon already grew his business simply by switching from HBO to Showtime. Would you rather share a smaller pie with a bunch of promoters are keep a bigger pie all to yourself?

And that's before anything that may or may not happen with Fox when the time comes.

Only 7 PBC cards out of 41 reached 1M last year. The rest got ratings as low as 76K.
