That seemed to be his motto; to respect the MW title by defending it against the best available contenders. I criticized the Dominic Wade fight but not because of GGG, just from the IBF's poor ranking system. But regardless of the rules, that was the mandatory challenger and Wade stepped up and took his shot.

I understand but the alternative was to fight Heiland (Jacobs had the Mora fight already on camp), and the WBC wasn't happy with Heiland inactivity and unwilling to give him the chance to fight GGG.

Maybe another IBF mandatory? did he have one?

Heiland is a much better opponent than brook. He has been inactive because he is waiting for his shot that he rightfully earned
