I also think he should be given that chance. The WBC should have ordered it. But the WBC was counting on making GGG vs Canelo it seems.

    • Also building himself in the UK gave him a better shot at the BJS title and a possible fight with DeGale at 168.
Let's be honest, he would have been criticized for fighting Heiland if the WBC ordered it.

Maybe another IBF mandatory? did he have one?
        Nah Wade was IBF.

Heiland would have been the better choice because he's an actual middleweight contender; but to be honest, that fight would have gotten destroyed by fans and especially critics. He was kind of in a no-win situation, so they figured now was the time to take the payday, I guess.

To take the payday, to build his image in the UK for potential fights in the UK against BJS, DeGale. People there voted him as #1 ppv fighter in the buildup of the Brook fight.

As you said, let's be honest, he would have been heavily criticized for fighting Heiland. I can already imagine the memes... "Avoids Canelo (eh?), fights Heiland". The anti-GGG bias is too much.

So man, we kinda agree. I hope everything is clarified now.

Dunn disappeared as usual, he couldn't back up his words.

Why are you giving him credit for potentially building to a fight with DeGale at 168 when he has never shown a willingness to go to 168 unless it was an easy win like Chavez jr. or old, retired Froch?

Again, this shows your bias. You are making up a potential GGG/Degale showdown to justify his fighting a WW.

Why would he need a Brook fight to build a BJS fight when he offered BJS $3 mil prior to this and it was turned down?

You are pretending that he is getting criticism without provocation. The reason GGG would get criticized for Heiland or Brook is because he is on record as saying anyone from 154-168. When he gets avoided, some fans expect him to go after a legit SMW instead of a Heiland or a Brook.

            How is that unfair criticism?

That is very well explained by -PBP- on his thread:

Link -> "Daring to Be Great" Has an Expensive Pricetag and it Always Has

Golovkin will move up or down if it makes sense financially. At 160, his natural division, he's willing to face anyone.

Here I anticipated that Jacobs would outweigh Golovkin clearly.

Then Golovkin slowly starting to grow and being able to knock down DJ late in the fight, possibly stopping him near the 11th or 12th round, or maybe going to the scorecards
Here I had it wrong, I thought Jacobs would start strong, but GGG was the one who started strong. But I predicted a long fight that would probably go to the scorecards.

I even expect people to demand a rematch.
Damn, I even predicted the card of two of the judges.

And what? now some of you talk as if GGG should've won by KO4 or 10-2 when it was obvious it was not the case.

Heck, I even predicted some of you would ask for the rematch.

                But GGG nuthugger doe.
