imho, mayorga was vernons kryptonite. not too many quality guys had problems with the caveman. THIS is what leads me to believe may would have found a way to beat vernon. as talented as vernon was, there was no guy smarter than may.

sorry I don't see Floyd beating Winky.. no way no how. he couldn't deal with Oscar's jab and even Maidana's jab was tagging him. Winky's jab is a laser and his defense was air tight. he beats Floyd decisively. all we got to go by is their styles. Winky's style is a nightmare for Floyd. .. too bad Floyd didn't agree to a 50-50 split, this fight was gonna happen.

...where was Oscar's jab over the back half of their fight? Unless I'm mistaken, Floyd must've, as he's always done, figured out the weapon and taken it away. lol

Winky isn't a knockout puncher, but his JAB was one of the hardest Jabs in boxing at the time. There is a reason nobody just walked in on him. Its because of that jab.

All of these fights boil down to Floyd not being big enough to make a Floyd gameplan work against these guys.

In order to potshop someone like Forrest who is 6'0" and had a massive reach, Floyd would have to work his way in past the consistent jab.

Working your way in past an offense only to throw one punch, has never been a winning strategy for anyone.

Floyd made it work because he fought guys close enough to his size, and generally with a reach disadvantage where he could do that from the outside and didn't have to work his way in.

Floyd's reach is 72", Vernon Forest's reach was 73", Ronald "Winky" Wright's reach was 72".

Winky Wright had a heck of a jab, but don't act like Floyd's jab was all that much worse that Wright's; you add that Floyd also has that laser straight/lead right hand, his body jab, the check hook, and his own defensive shell and it's odd that you count out Floyd so clearly.
