there, was that so hard (1st link doesnt work)? it was hardly the way you made it out to be though. i wanted you to give me your take on froch tucking tail and running for the hills. that was not the case.
froch thought he was too big for 3g. brook thought he was up to the task to face a guy bigger than him and what happened ? the bigger guy prevailed.
also, you usually see 3g saying he would fight so and so. i have yet to find a link that quotes 3g saying anything about froch. regarding froch, its all loeffler (a ton of boxing 24 news articles with a ton of fan boy opinions and slants to end them on).
frochs take on the situation...
'' "I spoke to Tom Loeffler and we were just chatting about fighting at a catchweight but he didn't want him [Golovkin] to come near me," he told Sky Sports.
'' "He didn't say anything, he didn't want to agree to anything - it didn't even sound like he wanted him to even come up to 168lbs. As soon as that was mentioned he was straight on to talking about fighting Canelo [Alvarez].'' ''
then theres this bit (same article).....
''Golovkin and Loeffler have already said the IBF and WBA world middleweight champion is happy to move up to secure a big fight in the near future.''
froch didnt have a future. he was damn near 40. had a ton of wars. contracts alone can take a year to finalize.
''Golovkin finished by saying that he's just a regular-sized middleweight who is able to make 160lbs comfortably, and thus has no immediate intentions of leaving the division.''
then theres a case where 3g could be slanted for being a dodger....
''For Ward, on the other hand, it's obvious Sanchez simply wasn't confident enough the reward was worth the risk.''
“The fight was offered, 50-50. Every detail was 50-50 and we made a conscious decision as a team to make him a 50-50 offer just so there was no wiggle room.”
''Ward goes on to say how the plan would have been for he and GGG to each box a tune-up – as he and Kovalev did before meeting earlier this month – “then let’s get it on right after.” But Ward says Team-GGG wanted Golovkin to unify the middleweight titles first (he still has the WBO title in his sights) “and then maybe [the fight can be made] in 2018.” ''
