The upside would be based on ppv sales.
The overall take would be based on everything.including money coming in from worldwide, where Golovkin is very popular.

Not only that, Jacobs would have easily taken step aside money to fight Golovkin after Canelo, as that fight would be bigger then.
It's absurd to have Golovkin's mandatory position as a excuse for the fight not getting made, it's not remotely accurate.
It's not Golovkin whose out there promising the fight gets made. It's not Golovkin whose promoter is facing pressure in USA and Mexico to make the fight.
People said he should take the 10m before the 15m.
What are they going to say when he gets 30%?
And you are talking about preassure for canelo from mexicans, as far as i know mexicans are more interested in canelo vs chavez than ggg or even cotto for that matter.. heck canelo facing marquez could be even bigger for mexicans...

It was Team Golovkin who were saying "160 or no fight!" They got what they (AND YOU) asked for! Back to the topic of "the double-standard." You won't call Kovalev's move to back out of the purse bid with Adonis Stevenson, a "duck" because Kovalev fights on HBO. Yet had Jacobs decided he's only fighting on Showtime, you would've called him a duck! Same as when Canelo fought Khan @ 155, "Oh that's horrible!" Then GGG fights Brook @ 160, "Great fight!" I even recall you stating Ward would come up with an injury excuse to get out of the Kovalev fight. You were wrong AGAIN! Fighters of today are business men, and GGG is no different than any other fighter!
GGG was right not to consider 155. Somebody had to end the catchweight bullshit with the WBC MW belt. GGG kept his word and did just that. Respect to him.
You are tallking garbage about me having double standards. Kovalev has an exclusivity deal with HBO. Stevenson doesn't have any deal with ST and Haymon only brought them into the negotiations with Kovalev because he wanted to scupper the fight.
I never even said that Canelo/Khan was a horrible fight. I wouldn't have had any problem with it if Canelo had kept his word and fought GGG next.
But Canelo sought out Khan instead of his mando. GGG signed to fight Eubank Jr and ended up with Kell Brook instead when Eubank wouldn't sign. He didn't go looking for Brook, like Canelo did with Khan, and he didn't duck a MW challenger to fight Brook instead. Also, Brook is a much tougher opponent than Khan, at MW. GGG/Brook was one of the best fights I've seen in a long time.
Do you think Ward would have fought Kovalev if his promoter hadn't guaranteed him more than double the money Kovalev was on? I don't.Last edited by kafkod; 01-04-2017, 06:51 PM.
