Ward is obligated to fight Kovalev and might retire before then. The Canelo fight might already be in the works by the time Ward is free for a fight.

Only fan boys desperate to see GGG continue facing the likes of Saunders and Heiland are attempting to justify the titles are actually meaningful, everyone knows who the real no.1 is and everyone knows why Canelo won't face GGG.
If GGG fan boys want their hero accepted as truly great he needs to move up and beat the best at 168 and face Ward, I suppose at a catchweight to make it competitive even though it is widely touted GGG hits like a light heavyweight.

I suppose he does not want to move up to cruiserweight and face Usyk. he doesn˙t seem to be keen on Kovalev rematch either..

The title that will cease to exist after 3/18 is GGG's super title.
GGG has the top 3 belts in his division. He's willing to take on all comers. He's facing the #1 contender in his next fight and trying to get Canelo in the ring and trying to get the WBO champion in the ring.
There is no middleweight he is ducking.
Your complaint is that he isn't fighting in other weight classes. Your complaint is ridiculous. He makes 160 easily and holds the top 3 titles at 160. Why should he leave the division he performs best at? Especially when staying there forces Canelo to face him?

who was he refusing to face in his division? he won the wba title. went after the WBC champion (cotto). cotto ducked him, so he beat the interim WBC champion. then he went after the IBF champion. then canelo ducked him, so he became WBC champion. now he's fighting the consensus #1 contender in the division because the WBO champion ducked him.
the GGG haters can never point out who this solid competition is that he avoided. they just whine that GGG is so good that it's not fair that he fights at the weight class he makes easily. that even though he easily makes 160 and could even make 154, that he should move up to 168 or 175 to put himself at an unfair disadvantage.
it's ******. he hasn't even cleared out the division. once he takes jacbos' belt, once he destroys canelo, once he gets the WBO belt, etc, he's going to naturally grow out of the weight class anyway as he gets older and i'm sure he'll move to 168 and try to do damage there. but the idea that he should leave his weight class because he's too good for it is ridiculous.

Take GGG out of the middle weight division you've a ton of competitive fights to go around, Jacobs likely establishes himself no.1 but he's no challenge to GGG in what is barely a deep division. It's obvious why GGG is hanging around waiting for a cash out fight, I don't begrudge him that chance but I don't want to see an exciting talent in Canelo damaged when he has an exciting future in the sport, he has a solid ten years in him yet what has GGG, 2-3 tops ?
