well since floyd would b putting on 18-24 lbs from his best weightclass and since oscar has been at 154 for the past 5 years, i dont think anybody would be too suprised. Overrated? No. Able to go up over 2 lbs a year for 10 years straight?still No.

He is overrated based on what HBO and some of the media make him out to be, but you can't deny who he has beat, preferably Castillo and Chico...Chico was undefeated before facing Mayweather and was whupping ass all over the place; Chico is tall, powerfull, and keeps coming back for more {thats one hard opponent}...Castillo, is a very good fighter, and was actually very underrated when Floyd fought him, but if you look at his record, saw him fight before, and saw how he won, the guy is impressive; Castillo and Chico right now though, are beating the **** out of eachother and probably will not be the same again, but yet Hatton wants to fight the winner, though I wouldn't mind seeing that fight so no real complaint.

He is NO Ray Leonard and NO Duran at this point in his career:
He needs to beat Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, basically clear out the 147lb division since he didn't do it at 140; also, if he can some how become the Champion at 154lbs facing guys like Karmazin, and whoever else is there, then he should be given absolute respect.

Mayweather isn't even on Oscar's level yet...Oscar went after everybody; some would argue it was the Money that was driving him to fight guys like Tito, but I say whatever gets you there in time I don't care

Ferocity, u want him to fight Margarito, right? dont worry he will get his chance? I think Margarito should try and fight Oouma or maybe even the winner of Mosley/Vargas. Everyone talks about Floyd picking his fights and fighting easy opponents, but Margarito doesnt take on serious competition. If he did, then he would, o I forgot he did and lost. just face it, no matter who Floyd fights in the next few years (154 and down) is gonna matter. They all will look easy!! In time, it might be a different story, but right now he the man

He ain't Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, or Tommy Hearns.

I'm not going to breakdown Floyd's flaws.. I'm not an expert, but he ain't perfect. He's had some close calls, and I wouldn't be shocked if Oscar beat him..
Do you think RJJ is an all time great?

you guys don't have to be floyd fans or even like floyd, but to say he's overrated is just ****ing ******. he's the number 1 fighter out there right now. and of course ferocity would have something to say hes's a floyd hater and he thinks magarito is the best, when he is one of the most overrated fighter's in that division.

i dont know about overrated, but he is certainly beatable.... especially if he keeps moving up and fighting bigger guys... the talk about floyd and winky a while back was crazy... styles make fights, i think big guys, that can box or have good skills will give floyd trouble, winky, harris, forrest(if he's still got anything left), shane...

Overrated? why are we even discussing this? Listen, Floyd Mayweather is the best BOXER in Boxing right now and thats just a fact! His 29yrsold, 36-0-24kos and has been virtually unstoppable his entire career!

Known for his speed, inpenatratable defense and pugilistic offensive skills, there are few if any boxers who stand a chance against him in the ring!

Haha DAMN,.... look at his resume,(close fights aside)Tony Pep(16)Angel Manfredy(18)Correlas, Chavez, JLC, N'dou, Corley, Gatti and Judah! Not to mention Augustus, Mitchell and Sosa! And still people question him, when will you learn, that things change and new GENERATIONS bring in NEW GOATS , FLoyd is that for this GEN! Its hard for me to understand why people root against the guy, when his basically beat ALL his opponents soundly and with a leveled attack, and claims not to bring his A game in any fights(HE CLAIMS IT, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN HIM REACHING, OFF-BALANCE TYSON LIKE)!

And still people doubt him, can you name a time youve seen him WOBBLED, STAGGERED or UNBALANCED? I didnt think so , now look at the top 5 LGT. Welters and Welters and ask the same thing! Believe it or not Floyd has power people 24 of the 36 opponents know that (86%)! And some more will find out, Floyds only weakness at this point is himself and depending on WHAT WEIGHT CLASSES HE CHOOSES TO FIGHT AT: HE CAN DOMINATE LGHTWEIGHT, LGTWELTER an WELTER, BUT will he and can he try to go higher then that! AS FOR HIM BEING OVERRATED WHERE DO YOU GET THIS FROM: OVERRATED IS SAYING SOME ONE LIKE hatton COULD BEAT FLOYD, FLOYD IS LIKE SOMEONE SAYIN mayweathers GONNA DEMOLISH HIS ENTIRE DIVISION! (ITS TRUE)

He is overrated because some people put him in the category of Leonard, Duran, Hearns now..before he's fought the A list competition. Saying he's best pfp now, that's a fair statement..saying if he retired now he was in the same class as Leonard, that's a ridiculous statement. Not until he's beaten, or at least fought the DLHs, Hattons, Cottos, Margaritos, Mosleys..until he beats some of these guys he is not a "great" fighter..he just has "potential" greatness.

Perhaps you should reserve judgement until after June 10. He's fighting someone similiar to Floyd's style so we'll see.

i dont think floyd is over rated, i think he should fight everyone though and revive the sport like he has the potential to do. rather than playing the cash game and pretending that he is a hip hop all star.
