Am I the only one who thinks Floyd Mayweather is overrated?

The guy hasn't beaten anyone that great.. Corrales, Castillio, Judah, old Gatti, Mitchell..

All of these guys had their moments, but none have been on the top pedestal consistently.

He ain't Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, or Tommy Hearns.

I'm not going to breakdown Floyd's flaws.. I'm not an expert, but he ain't perfect. He's had some close calls, and I wouldn't be shocked if Oscar beat him..

I agree with you kinda..people jump on the "great" term too fast. He has the potential to be in the class of t a Durn, Leonard etc..but he needs to fight the big boys first. If he gets through DLH, Margarito, Hatton, Mosley..with one loss or none..then you can call him great. Until then, he's still potential greatness.

As if a "prime" Gatti or Mitchell would've made a difference? That's laughable man.

You're also forgetting: Castillo (twice), Chavez, Genaro Hernandez, and a prime Manfredy.

say what u want about castillo, corrales, and judah, they all are on the so -called p4p list. and in my opinion, ZAB is nice with it when his head right. If Floyd is overated, then so is competition. Aint his fault that ray leonard aint in his era, and its funny how these people were all considered tough and a hard fight, and how they were going to give him that L. And he has won every single one of the fights convincingly except the first Castillo fight. So just sit back and enjoy his overrateness, I am!

if you think Mayweather is overrated, then yes, you are the only one.

Actually, there's probably a few more ****ing idiots out there like yourself.

Mayweather could do great things if he goes back and fights the legitimate guys at weights such as Hatton. What harms him in my view is that he seems to stay away from the physical fighters ever since he fought Castillo. That pattern to me is an overwhelming indication that he doesn't want to be in that kind of fight. Mayweather has opened himself up to criticism by not fighting Hatton at light welterweight and thinking it was good enough to do in a faded Gatti. You might say that Mayweather iss till only a two weight world champion because the WBC version at 140 was bull****, stripped from Tszyu, the welterweight title was illegitimate at 147 because Judah did not deserve to keep it after Baldomir. Even if PBF defeats ODLH for the WBC 154 title that's bull**** because that title was never lost by Winky Wright.

Castillo fan, he tried to fight Cotto and Hatton at 140, they turned him down, this isnt new. They wanted no parts of him especially after he demolished gatti in front of their faces. They've been turning him down, what is he supposed to do, not fight?

Hatton came to Welter to try to get a fight with him. Call me crazy but beating an old Gatti (love him, but a limited fighter), Judah (all bark no bite), and Angel Manfredy doesn't make him a great fighter. There are several dangerous and highly regarded opponents out there for him now, let's see how he fares against them before we wmetion him and Sugar Ray in the same sentence.
