IBF isn't going to change their rules, and do not allow step-asides. It's pretty simple.....Brook has to fight Spence next or he will be stripped, and Spence and Horn will fight for the vacant belt. Khan wants a tune-up in april, so why doesn't Brook just fight Spence in April? His mandatories were always so important to him before, but Spence is no Jojodan, Bizer, etc. He is a jackass for holding the belt hostage.

Khan is more money, and a much easier opponent, so that is what he will do.

Spence would rather face Horn than the dangerous Brook. That's why he's quiet. He's enjoying his long vacation.

Well, Hearn is notorious for dragging negotiations down and change course in mid-stream. It happened to Rios, Chaves, Donaire, Alexander, Vargas, Eubanks, etc.

That's why Spence, if he's waiting for Brook, is in for a long extended vacation. He better not make any layoff excuses when he loses his next fight or demand tuneup fights.

He's the mandatory. The IBF doesn't allow step asides. He has to make the decision to fight him or not in Feb. What's so hard to understand about this situation? He either fights him or vacates. It's really not that hard to understand

No issue at all. Seems Spence is not so concerned about the long wait.

What do you expect him to do? He can't do anything until Feb. I mean, I don't understand what people expect Spence to do while he's waiting on Kell. Take another fight and risk an injury? Naw. He's in the perfect position to fight for the title. Be it Kell or Horn.

Why concerned about the long wait when it's so normal for fighters to fight once a year these days? Ideally, Haymon should have already been talking to Hearn and not have to wait till February, even if only for the purpose of making sure they're not waiting for nothing. Brook has nothing to lose here. He could vacate his title, but still win the lucrative Khan fight. Let them wait.

Even for a fighter as hungry as Spence I would be hard pressed to find someone who would turn down guaranteed money, and a promise to fight the winner, to just sit on their ass.
